Chat can also be too fast and Torvus can't send messages as fast as the server chat is. - [isse] Sharp suggested having multiple server chat messages in one Torvus message to fix the second problem. And first one could be fixed by splitting up the message ### [froggy] Client Integrated Translation Service * a separate server doing the translation might be an option (if we can solve the privacy issues) ### Server located in LATAM (Latin-America) - Lost of players rn are located in Latin America - Current server is in Germany - As soon as we have a browser we should be able to host servers in SA / NA. - users expressed concerns about losing progress from unoffical servers since they might be less reliably maintained - player character migration between servers would be a solution, but that require a lot of work - [christof] I don't know whether a server without character migration would help - as it would fragment the user base => Figure out how to host a server in LATAM at all. Then do the rest. ### Memory leak * server memory leak? * No details yet * Has been happening for a few days * xMAC + Nadja are working on getting a dump of files * heaptrack is an option to investigate * might be a fragmentation problem as well * we don't want to disturb the main server during prime time * Angel offered a spare/test server * [nadja] Server is leaking memory, abridged: So yeah our server is curretly loosing track of memory like it's an stumbling drunkard fresh out of the tavern. We don't know where it put any of the memory or what it's doing with it but we know it's been vanishing. It's not a problem yet, it'll be a very big problem very soon. Two of our archmages residental idiots with fancy sticks are currently trying to thunk how to divine where the drunkard has put all it's wayward memory.
