# Veloren 0.12 Release Video Script Hey! I'm Forest, or AngelOnFira, and I'm one of the core developers of Veloren, an open source game in which you explore or fight your way around a beautiful open world. This weekend, we're releaing Veloren 0.12, and we're super excited to celebrate some of the new features for this release. Let's look at some of the changes! First off, the mounts system was overhauled! New jumping animation allow for some great movement abilities. You can also engage in mounted combat, and interact with entities while mounted. One of my favorite visual changes are the new water shaders. Now, lakes look far more ominous the deeper you swim, and you can see some really great interactions with light and the water. Speaking of water, waterfalls were also added! They occur in locations where there is a steep decline in a river's height. There also has been a lot of work done on water sounds by rivers, to mix more effects together. This is the result! \<play water noise\>. There is now more happening on the forest floor with shrubs recently implemented. But beware, anthropods have just been added, so keep an eye out! Unless you're looking for a fight, but in that case, you'd be better off checking out the new Gnarling forts. You'll probably need your friends with you to conquer this stronghold. As you can see, they are a worthy opponent, even if it's that way through their sheer numbers. ## Other news Now that we've seen some of the great changes for this version, ## Credits I haven't gone over every change that's a part of 0.12, but you can take a look at our changelog to see everything.
