Vac is an R&D org creating modular p2p protocols for private, secure, censorship resistant communication.

While Vac has a core team, it is an open and permission-less organization.

### Research team

The research team is focused on research and specifications of protocols within the general scope of Vac. Waku v2 is the current main focus, and the main client is nim-waku.

### Client team(s)

#### nim-waku

Implementation of Waku in Nim. Overlaps with the research team, which is also ensuring this is production-ready. Initial research goes here, tight feedback loops and synergies with other research projects such as nim-libp2p, Nimbus, Dagger, etc.

#### js-waku

New implementation with a focus on enabling Waku through browsers as well as supporting wallet integrations.

#### go-waku

New implementation with a focus on implementing a subset of Waku v2 to get it into the app. Long term, there might be some overlap with Status Network here. Can possibly act as thin layer on top of nim-waku exposed C API, or similar, in the future to avoid double effort.

## DappConnect

DappConnect is a new production team focused on making Waku useful for integrating with wallets and DApps.

We want to use grants and similar as much as possible here.
