Not applicable as no meeting scheduled this week ### Useful links * Calendar with meeting times: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=7nar31c6ni4esif8fn1881kgds%40group.calendar.google.com * Check your local time: http://arewemeetingyet.com/London/2019-05-29/16:00/Whitaker%20lab%20GSOC%202019%20weekly%20meeting * Zoom link: https://turing-uk.zoom.us/my/kirstiezoom ### Review of last week's goals *This section is a copy and paste of the goals section from last week's meeting notes.* - [x] Ruslan: recreate the figure mentioned in issue #1 - plotting functions for network measures, rich club values and degree distribution * Isla: - [ ] Clean up testing suite - [x] update development guide a la Sarah's sugestions. - [ ] Direct Ruslan to random graph creation routines already implemented in scona * Monica: Continue with the goals from last week. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KUfqYJCE3AtqHS3KY3M70TXRSU4TBmVb67OjBNVJhTs/edit Looking at this, in order to continue with my plan and finish on time, I have to do smoke tests for 3 files. ### This week's wins *Please add a bullet point with your name next to it and a "win" (something that you did well or succeeded at) that you've had this week.* *(Everyone is expected to complete this section, including mentors.)* - Ruslan: Implemented the planned 3 visualization functions - Isla: This is always the hardest one! I'm on holiday but I wrote a user manual for boiling water at the hostel I'm staying at. Does that count as documentation? ### Current blockers *Please add a bullet point with your name next to it and a "blocker" (something that is making it hard for you to get your work done) that you're currently experiencing.* *(Everyone is expected to complete this section, including mentors.)* - Ruslan: Weird behavior of github I encountered for the 1st time. My forked repo is 9 commits ahead of the origin repo. But when I click "Compare" 0 files changed and commits are the ones I have already merged in the original repo some time ago. - Isla: that's surprising! Trying this myself I haven't been able to replicate the problem, but confusing to be sure! - Isla: :grimacing: time as usual. ### Questions *Please add a bullet point with your name next to it and a question that you'd like to ask.* *(This section is optional, but please add as many questions as you'd like!)* - Ruslan: Should I open a PR with all the work I've done so far or wait for the **Kirstie's** feedback on the work (in the [issue #119](https://github.com/WhitakerLab/scona/issues/119)) - Isla: I think a pull request is the ideal way for kirstie and I to offer feedback on your work. - Ruslan: What are the subpackages in scona: *scona.scripts, scona.wrappers, scona.datasets*? - Isla: yep, that's them. .scripts is the core code, .wrappers contains the sort-of-not-really command line interface and .datasets just contains the PNAS data. ### Next week's goals *Please add a bullet point with your name next to it and your goal for next week.* *(GSOC students are expected to complete this section. Mentors can optionally add a goal.)* - Ruslan: continue creating tools for visualisation purposes; - Isla: Specifically to recreate the plot of the brain in issue #1 - Ruslan: After chatting with Isla - Issue [#122](https://github.com/WhitakerLab/scona/issues/122) - create two plots of the connectome. - Isla: I will be away until next Wednesday and have limited time to work on scona. I think this week I will focus on being around enough to answer Ruslan's questions when he has them. If I get time I'd love to clean up the warnings mentioned in [issue #111](https://github.com/WhitakerLab/scona/issues/111)
