# Working Smart ## Divide and rule When it comes to accomplishing tasks, goals, or any work, breaking them down into smaller, manageable chunks is the key to success. By focusing on completing these smaller pieces one by one, you can optimize your mind's performance. Each time you finish a small piece, you receive a sense of accomplishment, making the overall process more enjoyable. Consider the analogy of winning 10 lotteries, each worth 1 crore, every month consecutively. The happiness derived from winning them individually over time is greater than winning them all at once. Consistently achieving small victories surpasses the impact of a single significant success. ## 80:20 rule - from the dogma of perfectionism to the joy of realism 80% of any work can be done with less than 20% time and effort. This is what all you need for any typical work. 90% of work can be done in 90% of time and effort. This is required only for works that are very very critical. This kind of work is very very rare. 95% of any work requires 99% of time and effort. This kind of work is not present in an average person's life. This may be required for scientists and researchers. 99% of work requires infinite time and effort. This work is done over centuries by different generations. Such as technological advancements. 100% of work can never be done. It is impossible and a myth. Anyone who is claiming 100% work, they are either ignorant or bluffing. if you follow 80:20 rule, 1 work can be done in 1hr and 7 works can be done in 7 hrs. if you want to do 90% of work, you will need 70 hours (10days) to achieve it. if you want to do 95% of work, you will need 700hrs (100days)! if you want to do 99%, you’ll need a lifetime!!! Therefore, it is advisable not to strive for perfection, as it often leads to procrastination due to the overwhelming nature of it. Instead, embracing the 80:20 rule will help you strike a balance in your life and achieve significant progress with manageable effort.
