# AsyncAPI Team Onboarding Guide
```
The idea is to make this a repo that people can fork and refer back to any time.
```
## About AsyncAPI
- THE VISION:
- AsyncAPI becomes the #1 API specification for defining and developing APIs. Any kind of APIs.
- THE ROADMAP:
- https://www.asyncapi.com/roadmap
- OUR VALUES:
- **Community-driven**, the community participates in all discussions
- **Asynchronous Communications**, our community is global and many are volunteers so synchronous meetings are less valuable than async communications.
- **Extreme transparency**, we do all of our work in the open
- **Honesty**, we stick with the truth even when it's hard.
- **Decency**, we are kind to our community and each other and give credit where it is due.
- **Inclusive**, we welcome everyone.
## What to expect in your first weeks.

- Set up a recurring 1:1 with your manager for future weeks where you will discuss
- work and task progress - mostly onboarding tasks at first.
