# Nanotrasen System of Justice

An abridged and rapid-resolution system of justice commissioned by Nanotrasen for enforcing law and order onboard their stations and vessels and within the grounds of their facilities.

## Initial Escalation: Department of Small Claims

A small claims court - for early-stage where it isn't legally a trial. Judge is selected from a council of local personnel: often station personnel heads and vessel first officers. Little legal consequence, but rare.

## Phase 2: Nanotrasen Court of Justice and Maritime Law

As a majority of Nanotrasen citizens technically live onboard a naval vessel (NTMH Dome), it follows Nanotrasen Maritime Law. This is judged often by local high-ranking officers, such as onboard stations it is usually the Captain, whereas onboard small vessels it is the Captain as well. Onboard the NTSV Sapiens, these cases are heard before judges from the Nanotrasen Committee of Maritime Law.

## Phase 3: The High Committee of Maritime Law

Due to the nature of the Dome, the High Comittee is the final authority most have to go to. They are high-ranking Nanotrasen personnel, some of whom are Rear Admirals, who hear important cases on a frequent basis.

## Phase 4: The Admiralty Board

Escalation to Phase 4 of the judiciary system is extremely rare, but whenever it occurs the Admiralty Board is involved. The regular admirals form an Advisory Jury to aid the Grand Admiral, who is declared the immediate judge. These cases are often resolved in under ten minutes, and with very clear-cut verdicts. The admiral of the Nanotrasen Intelligence Agency is granted the highest authority out of all admirals bar the Grand Admiral during these cases to aid in gathering evidence from across all of Nanotrasen.
