## Where Gospel Glows
With choking fog
that drives me blind,
this winter’s eve's
a stormy night.
As waters churn
where shadows hide,
a darkness lurks --
its talons filed.
---
I speak aloud
with words refined,
a posture proud,
my head held high.
"Deliver me,
and lend your might!"
I seek reprieve —
I need what's right.
I hold her gaze,
converse her eyes.
The volumes flow,
they urge my tides
of light to grow --
turn ablaze the sky.
---
My heart's gone calm.
My nose runs dry.
From softer words
than I could find --
she's masked my pain
with her reply.
---
So for a while
the gloom subsides,
and gospel glows
while shadow hides.
