# Commercialization
Commercialization opportunities for a Self-hosted, Decentralized Social Network platform that is also Open Source is _quite_ hard_; but nonetheless we _believe_ it can be done, and successful.
__NOTE:__ There will never be any avenue for collecting user data, selling user data or selling advertising on any Twtxt Pod.
## Hosted Pods
This is primarily how Twtxt (_which will eventually become a business entity / company_) will grow its network of Twtxt Pods and User base within the network.
The basic ideas here are simple:
- Offer 1-click Twtxt Pods for a fee.
- These Pods are "limited" in size and capacity with different pricing tiers.
- Each Pod is fully automated, managed and backed up.
The pricing model and price point is expected to start at $1.99 USD per month for a Pod with limited size and capacity. Enough to sustain an entire family and friends.
> ***Single-user Pod*** at **$9/YEAR**. I have been thinking if this kind of option would be interesting. The user would be connected to other instances but its own instance only supports a single-user. Account would be hosted on *username.twtxt.social* or user's own domain. This is a **$0.75/month** option (paid yearly), pretty afordable.

## White Label Branding
The basic idea here is to "Sell" fully Managed, Hosted Pods for Businesses that wish to join the growing Twtxt community. These can be for informing customers of new and upcoming products, promotion, news and updates about a business and more.
__Note:__ It is possible that a business can "advertise" their products this way, but that it is important to realize that they do so at their own peril. Since they have no access to user data or user behavior, they (_the business entity / company_) are in fact just another User/Feed in the Twtxt network. If users wish to follow a business/company's feeds, they may do so, if they become too "spam-y", "in your face", or other reasons, users can "Unfollow" that business/company feed.
- A pricing model / price pint is TBD.
## Supporting twtxt.net
> I won't be upset if you guys don't like this idea. But this could start bring revenue to pay for servers, etc. I am no backend developer but my guess is that this shouldn't be too hard to implement and the same credit card provider *(like Stripe)* can be used later for the *Hosted Pods* option.
