The Korean Women's Basketball League (WKBL) has finalized the list of participants for the 2024-2025 WKBL Rookie Draft, which will be held at Bucheon Gymnasium on Tuesday.

"A total of 28 players will participate in the draft," the WKBL said on Aug. 8.

The roster consists of 22 high school graduates, three college graduates, one college player, one foreign national, and one overseas player. It has been about 15 years since the WKBL had more than 20 high school graduates in the 2010 WKBL Draft, which was held in 2009.

The roster includes eight players who will graduate from high school, including Lee Min-ji (Sookmyung Women's High School), Chung Chae-won (Bundang Management High School), and Jeong Hyun (Sungkyunkwan Women's High School), who participated in the 2024 FIBA U-18 Women's Asia Cup, and Kim Do-yeon (Dongju Women's High School), who won the Most Valuable Player and Rebounding Awards at the 2024 Federation Championship.

Yoo Yi-bi (Gwangju National University), who won the best player and assist awards at the 40th MBC Bae National College Basketball Tournament, Park Da-jung (Busan National University), and Moon Ji-hyun (Dankook University) will participate as college graduates, while Yang Yoo-jung (Gwangju National University), who won the scoring award at the 40th MBC Bae National College Basketball Tournament, will participate in the draft as a college student.

The lottery method will be divided into two groups according to the regular league ranking and postseason performance in the 2023-2024 season. However, due to the trade between BNK Thumb and Shinhan Bank that took place in April (BNK Thumb's Shin Ji-hyun and the first-round pick in the 2024-2025 Rookie Draft for Shinhan Bank's Byun So-jung and Park Sung-jin), Shinhan Bank will have the first-round pick regardless of the outcome of the ranking lottery.
