# **About Scaler Neovarsity Program** MS in Computer Science // MS in Computer Science with AI/ ML Specialisation Scaler Neovarsity is the first institute of its kind that preserves and upholds the Skills-with-Degree culture. The course covers foundational subjects and real-world skills in such a way that you are ready to be in top-tech companies. Give yourself a better chance with an accredited Post-Graduate Degree in Computer Science. We aim to revolutionise the ed-tech space altogether so that you can Create an impact in your career # **Enrollment** A learner can get enrolled into the neovarsity program at Scaler by visiting https://www.scaler.com/neovarsity/v2/ and signing up or logging in , in case of an existing user. The page will allow the user to schedule a call with a counsellor who will assist them with all the details about the degree program and how the onboarding process. The user can also request a call back from the team by selecting the option available on the webpage. The enrollment criteria for the degree program require at least 1 undergraduate degree with one year of minimum work experience. The undergraduate degree as well as the work experience can be in any domain, no technical work experience or prior education is mandatory for enrollment. To initiate the enrollment process the user has to sign up on the above-mentioned website link and speak to a counsellor. In the case of an existing user, they can log in with the same credentials. After speaking to the counsellor the user will be expected to make a partial payment or full payment as per their convenience and choice. After the payment is completed, the user will receive onboarding steps over an email. The onboarding steps need to be completed within 14 days from the day of the payment. The details submitted by the user will also then be verified by WOOLF and they will receive an email post verification and the same will reflect on their dashboard. In the case of an existing learner from the online learning program at Scaler, all the progress will sync if they upgrade to the respective degree program. There is also a short video about the onboarding steps that the user is expected to complete, here is the link https://drive.google.com/file/d/13uC_nyqfWc4nUlqdaP8-744ZjqB_XYV_/view?usp=sharing # **Grading and credits** A Scaler Neovarsity enrolled learner is expected to earn a minimum of 90 credits of which 10 credits are to be earned via a mandatory project submission. These credits can be earned across multiple modules. In order to earn credits attached to a module, there are some steps. First, the module needs to be completed. The completion status is marked via the scaler team and is visible on the learner’s dashboard. Second, the learner needs to complete minimum workload hours. A 5-credit module requires a minimum of 125 workload hours and a 10-credit module requires a minimum of 250 workload hours. Workload hours can be completed by attending lectures or watching the respective recordings of the module, solving assignments, reading research papers, attempting tests and mock interviews. Mock interviews are only available for some specific modules. Workload hours are dynamic and a learner can view their progress on the workload hours by visiting the “core skills and curriculum page” , selecting the module from the side panel and clicking on “view workload progress”.The third step is the ensure the learner has completed the minimum resource consumption, i.e. watched at least 1 lecture, solved at least 1 regular assignment and consumed at least 2 research papers. Now in case a learner is unable to complete the mandatory workload hours in a specific module, they can request additional lectures by visiting the additional lecture recording page, they can visit by clicking: https://www.scaler.com/academy/mentee-dashboard/core-curriculum/other-classes/recordings/active If any of the above steps is pending or not completed the learner will not be able to finalise their grade, i.e. they will also not be able to click on the finalise grade option available on their dashboard. Upon completion of the 3 steps mentioned above, a learner can finalise their grades. The grade is decided based on a score and the score is calculated as: Total Score = (PSP × 0.4) + (Exam Score × 0.6). “PSP” is problem problem-solving percentage and is the %age ratio of the total number of regular problems solved divided by the total number of regular problems available. ‘Exam Score” here can be the maximum score earned by the learner in either the mock interview or the respective test. A learner can improve their grades if required by taking a maximum of 3 reattempts of the test available for the specific module. In order to reattempt the test they can visit https://www.scaler.com/academy/mentee-dashboard/core-curriculum/interviews/ in case they are unable to find they can seek for support which can be provided by the support agents. An example of grade calculation : PSP: 90% × 0.4 = 36% ,Exam Score: 100% × 0.6 = 60% , Total Score = 96% , Grade: A, GPA: 3.9 # **Projects** Every enrolled learner for the neovarsity program needs to submit a mandatory project report for evaluation. This is also a mandatory step to earn the mandatory 10 credits which are a part of the overall 90 credits to be earned to be eligible for the degree. In the case of the MS Computer Science Program, project report submission gets you 100 workload hours and in the case of MS in Computer Science with AI/ ML Specialisation, project report submission gets you 50 workload hours. Like all the other modules completing the workload hours, resource consumption and module completion status is mandatory to finalise the grade and earn credits for the project module as well. For MS computer science program the user can select the project as per the track selected i.e. either backend or full-stack. For MS in Computer Science with AI/ ML Specialisation program, the learner is expected to complete and submit a minimum of 5 business cases available to them in their program across modules. These could be any 5 business cases submitted out of the total available business cases on the user’s dashboard. Upon completion of the same, a project module will be added on their dashboard, please note that the project module will not be present on their dashboard without completing at least 5 business cases. The name of the project module across all the programs is “Applied Computer Science Project”. The user is expected to submit their project reports and consume the content and assignments available within the module. There is also a video that explains how to create and submit the project report, available on their dashboard within the module. # **Electives** Every learner in enrolled on the neovarsity program will get access to select and complete elective modules out of the available options. For MS in Computer Science with AI/ ML Specialisation program, the user will receive a form after completing the module “ML Ops” , based on the elective selected, the modules will be added by the scaler team and the subsequent order of modules will change and start reflecting. If they do not fill the form, they will follow the order which is available to them on their dashboard. So its mandatory to fill the form. Please note that they will not receive the form before the completion of the module “ML ops” . Also for the modules that the user did not select as an elective, can be accessed in recorded format by raising a request for the same. In case they raise the request, a support agent can assist them. In the case of MS in Computer Science program in Neovarsity , the form to select the electives will be rolled out after completing the HLD or Project module, depending upon the track selected. What all electives are available If they do not fill the form, they will follow the order that is available to them on their dashboard. So its mandatory to fill the form. Please note that they will not receive the form before the completion of module “HLD or Project” . Also for the modules that the user did not select as an elective , can be accessed in recorded format by raising a request for the same.
