# Skybreach: Land Sale Info
This post will go into detail about the [Skybreach](https://url.rmrk.app/meta) Land Sale.
It is recommended that, aside from the general [Skybreach post](https://url.rmrk.app/meta), you read the Lore Thread and the Broken Sun short story prequel to understand the world you're entering, why the land is placed this way, and how it will evolve over time.

## How many for how much and wenwenwen?
There are a total of 225k plots of Land across 9 skylands, with **only the first one** going up for sale for now.
We decided to sell only one skyland at a time in order to leave room for commercial expansion (some high value partners may want their own skyland adjacent to the main one), and to make sure the initial community is tight-knit rather than spread out across a vast wasteland.
The public sale is slated to start on **April 31st**, while [Kokopelli](https://url.rmrk.app/gems) users will be able to get in much sooner (see Whitelist section).
There will be 25'000 plots for sale on skyland 1 at three starting pricing tiers:
- 16k common at 50 xcRMRK each
- 5k rare at 150 xcRMRK each
- 1k epic at 250 xcRMRK each
The prices will go down over time:

The more expensive ones will be rarer, closer to rich resources, have underground chambers, or have other advantages. See "Land Technical Info" section below. Epic land will also have the special Vegvísir marker which allows quick-travel once correct infrastructure is built, turning the land into a spawn point.
The remaining 3000 are a combination of 500 Premium land, and 2500 plots of Harberger Taxed land, explained later in the "Special Land" section.
Any unsold land will remain on sale throughout 2022 and drop in price gradually until it reaches 10% of its original price on Dec 31st and then stay there until completely sold out.
There is no limit to how much land a single address can buy, in the presale or public sale.
## Skylands
There are 9 original skylands, each hosting 25000 lands, each matching a super-founder Kanaria's context (biome).
The 9 original skylands and their themes or biomes are:
- NAME (Cyber)
- NAME (Steampunk)
- NAME (Wind)
- NAME (Earth)
- NAME (Fire)
- NAME (Water)
- NAME (Necro / Undead)
- NAME (Mecha)
- NAME (Dragon)
Every skyland will have a predominant biome (e.g. first one for [Super Founder 1](https://kanaria.rmrk.app/catalogue/8949162-e0b9bdcc456a36497a-KANBIRD-KANS-00000001) is cyber), but will have elements of other biomes in it as well.
## What is Land?
A plot of Land is a multi-resource RMRK NFT.
Resource 1 is a simple representative icon for marketplaces and the like. Resource 2 is a tile which the owner can replace with their own content, adding some flair to their land while the game is still being developed. The first two resources will be added on mint.
Resource 3 - coming later - will be a resource into which is playable: a single plot of land is 32x32 squares. A square is "1 meter" or, in game terms, one step in any direction.
Thus, a plot of land has 1024 "slots" per height level into which other NFTs can be placed, barring any terrain obstacles.
By owning multiple adjacent plots, you can build cross-border experiences like tunnels, land-spanning buildings, and more. Note that selling a land which is home to only part of a building will demolish that building on sale, discarding the raw resources. It is recommended to decomission a construction before such a sale to get resources.
Several land plots can be sold at once, keeping cross-border constructions intact.
## Inflation and Deflation
The initial 9 skylands will be constant.
As new breaches appear, they will serve not only to get other metaverse avatars into Skybreach as playable species, or to get Kanaria, Chunkies, and other Skybreach-native species out, but also to portal in new skylands that can be visited from the main 9.
Thus, new land may appear - these new lands might be available for purchase, rent, or it may even happen that an entire project owns a skyland, with their own rules, species, and tech. Such special "DLCs" will be free and accessible to all, but may have rules of their own as dictated by the owners of the world.
In this way, Skybreach is an ever-evolving environment where anyone can build their own metaverse experience. An SDK is being developed.
As campaigns or entire worlds reach their end-point, their skylands may breach back into their original world, or even crumble and die. In any case, these lands can also disappear, making land scarcer.
For example, World Governance could vote to initiate The Great Detachment to push off the hostile Phala World cyborgs, and destabilize their skyland. In doing so after a successful vote, the world crumbles and is pulverized by the chaotic Midspace between the skylands.
## What do Kanaria holders get?

Super Founder birds get 2% of the skyland's Harberger Tax and 10 epic land vouchers.
Founder birds get 1 epic land voucher, 1 rare land voucher, and 3 common land vouchers. If they are full-set, they also get 0.75% of the Harberger Tax of the skyland their full set matches. If their full set does not match a skyland's context, i.e. a bird has "Polkadot" full set but there is no Polkadot skyland, then this has no effect.
Rare birds get 1 rare 10 common land vouchers and 0.25% of the Harberger Tax of the skyland their full set matches. If their full set does not match a skyland's context, i.e. a bird has "Polkadot" full set but there is no Polkadot skyland, then this has no effect.
LE birds get 1 common land and 0.1% of the Harberger Tax of the skyland their full set matches. If their full set does not match a skyland's context, i.e. a bird has "Polkadot" full set but there is no Polkadot skyland, then this has no effect.
Land vouchers are usable as currency to buy land. Higher vouchers can buy lower land (i.e. buy common land with epic vouchers). Vouchers do not guarantee early access - to get in before others, use [Kokopelli](https://url.rmrk.app/gems).
## Special Land
Some Land will be special. There are two types of such land: premium and Harbtaxed.
### Premium Land
Premium Land is for special promotions, special partners, etc. It is owned by RMRK, is in very desirable positions, and generally maxed out in terms of height and depth one can build on it. Like Epic land, Special land also contains the Vegvísir marker, which is a spawn and quick-travel point.
This land is owned and distributed by the RMRK team, and can be claimed by RMRK team members for the [Premium Land Deed](https://kanaria.rmrk.app/catalogue?symbol=LNDDEED). The deed can also be used to claim a Harbtax plot (see below).
### Harbtaxed Land
Harberger Taxed land is land that is always for sale. Put simply, the "world" owns it, and puts it up for sale at 10 xcRMRK. This can always be purchased for at least 10% more than the previous buyer's price in xcRMRK (user-settable price) but charges 1% interest of that selected price per week in tax. Anyone can at any time buy the plot from the previous owner at a higher price than the last purchase, but then has to pay the tax, and so on. This makes price discovery of these lands fast and fair.
The tax goes into the Treasury from where it is distributed to the World Treasury, RMRK, and owners of Harberger Lordship (a special NFT) and some Kanaria birds (see above).
Some Harberger Taxed land also contains the Vegvísir marker, which is a spawn and quick-travel point, giving it extra value.
Other Harbtaxed areas will be Skyland cliffs (around launchpads for airships), high-yield mines, random Vegvísir location found around the world, and more.
Harbtaxed land that changes ownership keeps its assets and structures, passing them on to the next owner.
We expect Harberger Taxed land to host DEXes, commercial hubs, and other profit-generating activities that pay for the tax.
## World Decay
To prevent the formation of ghost towns and abandoned never-changeable land plots, the concept of World Decay has been introduced. The world of Skybreach is a chaotic and erosive one, and unless constructions on a piece of land are maintained, the **ownership of the land can revert and constructions can be lost**.
The preliminary rules are as follows:
If an owner of a land does not place their avatar into his land at least once in X days, they get a Decay Strike. If another X days go by without the owner showing up, the land is wiped, stripped bare by the winds of change. The ownership becomes public again and the land becomes available for purchase at its original price (10 xcRMRK in the case of common land, for example).
The time required for Decay to kick in and finalize is subject to modification by World Governance, and has a default value for different lands, indicated on the land sale map.
The World Decay can be permanently avoided by locking 10 xcRMRK into the land. Thus, if the owner never returns, 10 xcRMRK is forever locked into the game and taken out of circulation.
## What can I do with Land?
Until Skybreach is live, you can decorate it on the map by uploading an image into it as an equippable image into its secondary resource. Everyone with Land will also have access to playable Skybreach prototypes as they are developed, and once our building editor is live, you will also be able to play around with it if you have Land.
Once Skybreach is live, you will be able to build structures, experiences, and mini-games into your land. You will be able to turn the land into instanced PvE games, collective quests, and other offshoots as described in Lore Thread.
While there is not much one can do with Land in the beginning, and there is little incentive in getting in early, obtaining Land early on is cheap and will lead to further airdrops (free common structures, for example, that others will have to buy).
## Whitelist
The sale will happen in three phases:
- Kokopelli
- Whitelist
- Public
Those with [Kokopelli gems](https://url.rmrk.app/gems) will be able to activate their Kokopelli gems and enter an Eth address into the burn process.
This will whitelist the address for a pre-sale, where it is possible to manually reach out to the team and bulk-purchase land, or just interact with the map of the land-sale UI directly long before everyone else.
One week before the public sale, the following NFT holders will be whitelisted:
- Owners of Lobsters
- Owners of Club721
- Owners of Sandbox and Decentraland land
- Holders of BAYC and MAYC
- Kanaria holders
Kanaria holders may use their vouchers in this phase to claim land for free.
