# Shipquest Ideasguying ## Core Story: - The crew of a Boyardee stuck in the Outer Rim enters an alliance between a Syndicate and Nanotrasen vessel, hoping they might hold the key to escape. - As a neutral party, they're called upon by the captains of each vessel to maintain the testy peace that's been established. - However, the hidden agendas of each Boyardee crewmember threatens to spoil their reputation as mediators, and the strength of the alliance as a whole. Character breakdown will be 4 "main" characters on the Boyardee, 3 on the Syndicate vessel and 3 on the Nanotrasen vessel. ## Character Breakdown: Boyardee: Boyardee objective: Serve meals and get dough on the edges of the galaxy, deliver a killer pizza. - Bartender (Nicole Garter): A SolGov citizen, inherits many quirks from that: reverence of nature, aversion to synthetic materials. Not actually terrible at cooking, but it will pretend to not know how to cook to scare you. Motive: Has an extremely far-future paperclip-esque utility function that its job as a pizza chef is one step in a thousand-year-long Rube Goldberg plan to achieve something incredibly arbitrary and stupid. (change this maybe? im not sure what kind of motive it could have that would cause it to do strange things in canon. we cooould just have it be a wild card that does weird shit constantly.) Suggestion: It believes its goal is to avert certain events that would lead to a doomed timeline in the future. The specifics are incredibly secretive. - Botanist: Sanite Rotatio, Kepori. Diminuitive, rage filled little man with a propensity for plants and barely held back from killing god with plants that would make earths dictators blush. Not very good at cultivating plants that work well in meals, but tries their best, and was the cheapest hire for the crew of the boyardee. Was a migrant to one of many mining colonies abandoned and left to starve by Nanotrasen, and took up arms with the miners who rose up against the starvation hours at the hands of the company, partially because of his propensity for violence. Objective: Invent the newest advancements in weaponized cilantro technology, and find a way to make killer tomatoes work well in a salad. Motive: Needs cash in order to help fund ACLF projects in home sector, and for own bread day to day. - Maintenance: Slippers. Moth combination janitor and low-spec engineer. Excessively protective of the state of the vessel to a fault. Butch lesbian. Motive: Protect the ISV Woodfire at all costs. Syndicate: Syndicate Ship Objective: Reach a Donk! Co. holding on a jungle planet, that is past the Shiptest Sector. --- - Transportation Admiral Lizard (Sells-The-Deals) An ambitious peppy yellow Sarathi, working his way up the corporate ladder one network at a time. Cares for his crew like family, and has hope for a brighter world if the Syndicate can keep together. Hugma Male. Skilled in diplomacy. Onboard the ship in order to transport his crew, won't be staying at the destination long. Objective: Transport your crew to their next assignment location, and do some networking along the way. Grindset, but not in the chud way, in the spamton way. Motives: The thrill of the deal, and the love of his crew. - Medical Technician Human (Reila Emilania) Straight from earth, with a point to prove. Staunchly believes in herbal medicine, and has a tendancy to get roped into snake oil schemes in the name of research. Carrys a cool looking plasma sabre, which ran out of battery long ago, so it is now just a stick on a handle, without the plasma flow. Skilled in scavenging medical supplies. Aboard the ship to carry out medical research involving the plants on the jungle planet the Donk! Co. outpost the ship is heading to. Objective: Prove that herbal medicine mixed with glitter-tech space meds and environmentally sourced chemicals can be better than a pure cybernetics approach to medicine, for your thesis. Motives: Furthering natural medical science, and proving superiority over cybernetic medicine. - Piping Specialist Diona (Networks Of Pipes That Connect Us) Tall mass of nymphs, made up of 8 nymphs at comic start. Specializes in Atmospherics, Electrics, and Comraderie. Ideologically wants a union of species, under an egaltarian government similar to how a nymph is run, where all have a say. The GEC just so happens to be similar to their ideology, and match their job. Onboard the ship on a run to a distant Donk! Co. holding in order to troubleshoot an issue with their TEG. Motives: Keep all guns safe. --- Nanotrasen: - Captain (Johannes Leder): Vulp who's exhausted of the corporate ladder and can't decide if he wants to try and rocket to the top, or burn it all down. A skilled captain nonetheless, his crew worries that he might burn out at any time. Motives: Figure out what he wants in life. Then do it. - Secoff (Main Sequence VII): Open-faced, reliable plasmaman who leaves violence as a last resort. Though outwardly welcoming and kind, he harbors a suspicion of strangers that he just can't shake, perhaps a remnant of past experience. Motives: Investigate the crew of the Boyardee, deter threats to the peace. - Scientist (Aubrey): A sarcastic, workaholic Rachnid whose research is highly classified, even to her own crew. She believes that her trust in Nanotrasen will be rewarded one day, so long as she fulfills her covert contract. Motives: Don't let anyone anyone get close to her or her work.
