Day 1 will begin at 1:15 p.m. with the multi-events. Day 2 will hold most of the competition, starting at 10 a.m. NMU found themselves atop the scoreboard in Kenosha, Wisconsin for the Lake Michigan Open, earning a decisive team victory of 185 points. St. Norbert finished second with 102 points, and Wis.-Parkside placed third with 98. The 'Cats saw three student-athletes contribute four first-place finishes. Ellyse Wolfrath won the 55-meter hurdles (8.32 seconds) and 55-meter dash (7.42 seconds). Leah Root was atop the podium in the pole vault (3.45m) and Madi Szymanski (10:04.99) in the 3000-meter run. Last Season at the Jet’s Pizza Invitational A year ago, the 'Cats took home first place out of five competing teams by claiming 12 team points, narrowly beating out the 10 points from host SVSU. Over the two-day event, the Wildcats received several second-place finishes and many final event appearances. In the distance medley relay finals, the NMU team of Anna Kelley, Emme Burrough, Elise Longley, and Emily Sterling finished second with a time of 12:50.27. Izabelle Peterson took home a second-place finish in the 200m with a time of 25.14. Peterson also finished third with a 7.74 timing in the 60m finals. In the 800m, Hannah Jones finished second in the finals with a time of 2:15.84. Another silver medal came from Meghan Langworthy, who finished the 5,000m race at 19:00.05. In the pentathlon, Crystal Walker finished second accumulating 3,086 points over five events. Leah Root also tied for a second-place finish in the pole vault, leaping to a height of 3.44m. Root also took home third place in the triple jump where she reached 10.72m. In the long jump, Akirah Venerable jumped a distance of 5.38m for a silver medal finish.
