Introduction
What is an assessment?
We use a take-home assessment to judge your technical skills and present you to clients.
Why do an assessment?
- The image file may be corrupted
- The server hosting the image is unavailable
- The image path is incorrect
- The image format is not supported
But my time is valuable!

What if I have no time?
If you've already done one or several other significant (~8 hours) coding/homework challenges for other companies, you can send us the problem statements and solutions and we will review them.
In your deliverable, you must provide:
- The problem statement in the same format and as much detail / quality as we use in this page
- You must also agree that we may re-use / modify your problem statement and place it on this page for clients and other candidates to view. If you were the creator, we'd be happy to provide attribution to you at your choice.
- Your solution must pass based on our grading and submission criteria.
- You must have your basic profile filled out on our portal. This should take ~10 minutes.
Assuming your deliverables are polished, possible outcomes include:
- We award an unconditional equivalency
- We award a equivalency conditional upon passing a verbal technical interview
- We decline to award an equivalency
What if there is no assessment for my field?
You may choose to help us create an assessment for your field or revamp one that is in beta to be production quality. If you do so and we accept your plan, you'll gain a badge and be eligible for up to HK$4,000 under our loyalty program. Please remember to follow the eligibility steps here.
Our assessment design principles, in order of priority are:
- Impressive to clients (can link to it and have it be visually appealing); challenging (anyone who passes is likely very good).
- Deterministic and easy to grade (everyone should easily agree whether they pass or fail): ideally, anyone who finishes it should pass. This prevents people from being able to misinterpret or half-ass it to completion.
- Fun (candidate will learn something while doing it, should be fun to do).
