This assessment awards an Intermediate level certificate.

We were provided this idea by a developer who was tired of "throw-away" technical challenges. So instead, here is a way of doing something useful:

Pick a large, flourishing open source project and make and shephard through a substantial change.

  • If you need a rule of thumb for the definition of substantial, it should be around 8 hours of work. Alternatively, it should be ~1000 LOCs.
  • The open source project must have a code review process that you pass through.
