The weird man reanimates after Kratos appears to have killed him as if nothing had happened. In order to nurture his son while traveling the world and killing anything in his way, Kratos does as is anticipated at this point. The fact that Freya, the woman you saw before, is Baldur’s mother, presents the only obstacle to killing him. As she departs, she has Kratos swear revenge before the two of them head to the Giant’s Mountain to spread Atreus’ mother’s ashes.

As Asgardian armies get ready for a war that will supposedly end the world, Kratos and Atreus must go to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers. Fimbulwinter is already well underway.
