## UNIVERSAL DEPARTMENT POLICIES
### Article 1
#### Section 1 - Terms of Employment
1. All those employed by the Ministry of Justice must meet the basic requirements set out in the following subsection, those not following this are eligable for terminaton at any point;
a. All employees of the Ministry of Justice must be a "RESIDENT" in the "City of Vancouver, Canada" group.
b. No employee is authorized to have a criminal record, unless excused by the Attorney General or the Deputy Attorney General.
c. No employee is authorized to have been given a blacklist from any Government Agency, unless excused by the Attorney General or Deputy Attorney General.
2. All those employed by the Ministry of Justice must follow the following steps of employments, unless, granted an excuse or hired directly by the Attorney General or Deputy Attorney General.
- Internship - Step 1
- Those who are interns must follow the steps set out in Section 2.
- Probationary Employment - Step 2
- Those who are probationary employees must follow the steps set out in Section 3.
#### Section 2 - Internship
###### *NOTICE: Interns are newly hired "interns" in the department. They are not full employees, and can be terminated for ANY reason deemed acceptable by the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General or the Assistant Attorney General.*
Interns can only be promoted to probationary employee status, outlined in Section 3, once they have completed the following steps;
1. Justice Investigators
**a.** Once they have completed the Justice Investigations Institute, or,
**b.** Once they have investigated two (2) cases, and have them approved by the Assistant Attorney General assigned to oversee Investigations.
2. Paralegals
a. Paralegals can be moved up to the positon of "Probationary Emplyoee" once the Attorney assigned to them, has given official notice to the Assistant Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General or the Attorney General that they feel the paralegal is ready to progress in their career.
3. Attorneys
a. They can be promoted at any time, and have no set guidance.
#### Section 3 - Probationary Employees
###### *NOTICE: Although Probationary Employees are full employees, and protected by the Employee Rights Act. They are authorized to be terminated, punished, or otherwise removed for any reason deemed acceptable by the Administration.*
Probationay employees are given 1 month on probation, and then are automatically given the full protections of a general employee.
