# Link-in-bio service on IPFS/ENS > linktr.ee is a link-in-bio service for the purpose of this article the service name will be `vertice.eth` ## Aspects ### Link config - JSON file stored in IPFS - Used by Website to render provided links/info ### Website There are two parts to the website 1) Admin portal: allows the owner of a profile to apply edits 2) Link profile: where visitors view the links #### Url fragments If window.location includes a fragment (e.g. vertice.eth.limo/#username) then render the Link profile. Otherwise, render the Admin portal. The website will fetch the link config CID from username.vertice.eth and then fetch and render the appropriate links. ### Rational Separating the link config from the website makes resolution of the site faster and more reliable because everyone is using the same root dir hash for the website. ## Updating links Updating, and inital creation of, a link profile can be done through the admin portal. The admin portal would need to connect with the user's ethereum wallet and an IPFS pinning service to keep the link config available. ### Making Updates Easier ENSv2 will release sometime in the future which moves ENS to its own layer 2. (cheaper and faster) [[Article]](https://blog.ens.domains/post/ensv2) Updating of the links profile could be done via IPNS which would not require signing a transaction, which can create friction for the user. For IPNS to work a service needs to keep the record available. Because IPNS records are self-verifying this could be a centralized service run by vertice.eth. However this is not optimal as the service may disappear, causing the app to break. The link config also needs to be kept available on IPFS. This could also be done by a service run by vertice.eth until better solutions appear. ## Monetization Scheme User's are required to buy a subdomain on vertice.eth. ENS does not set prices of subdomains. The sale of subdomains can be controlled by a subdomain registrar in control of vertice.eth. Subdomains can cost a few dollars for permanent use or for rent like ENS domains.
