# Hype Control Ep. 4 ###### tags: `hype control` ## Hosts ## Pointers of the Podcast Don't be too conscious about these pointers, but they are nice-to-do's for it will make a better podcast experience for the listeners. 1. **Enjoy the discussion.** Nothing excites the audience more than a panel that's also excited to talk about the topics. 2. **Try your best to not slouch on camera.** Slouching in the podcast will make you look bored. The audience will also feel bored if you do. Try to sit up straight and listen intently to the person talking. 3. **Try to not interject or talk at the same time.** Wait for your moment to interject politely to the next panelist. Listen to their points and if their points were already mentioned, try not to repeat the same unless in agreement to the point. 4. **Look at the camera when trying to emphasize a point.** This will add gravity to your delivery. 5. **Always mind about the audio-only podcast listeners.** This podcast is also distributed via iTunes and Soundcloud so making visual references that listeners will not be able to see might alienate them. In cases like this the moderator can still describe any visual cues happening on the live podcast. 6. **Always be 1 inch away from the microphone when speaking.** Adjust the microphone arm to best suit your current sitting position / posture. Tip: Always speak in the `BM-100` label side of the microphone. 7. **Speak clearly and don't mince words.** Allowing yourself speak in a calm flow will make the audience understand your point. Also, make sure the point you're trying to relay is not a repetition of what the other panelists have already expressed. 8. **Always feel free to ask questions.** If you have questions about the topics, it's better to have it asked for it may represent the curiosities of the audience. This also allows further depth into the discussion. ## Before Playback of Intro > Things that the big N that fans want to end. Things that Ninty fans want gone in a glance. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of next year for £6.04 (~$7.98) a share, valuing Codemasters at around $1.2 billion. Sky News first reported EA’s interest in Codemasters over the weekend, saying that the British company had previously agreed a $970 million deal with Rockstar Games and 2K Sports owner Take-Two Interactive. EA confirmed the agreement early Monday morning. Codemasters is one of the oldest British game developers, having been founded in the ‘80s and producing early hits like Dizzy for systems that were popular in the UK like the ZX Spectrum and the Commodore 64. In recent decades it’s been best known for creating racing games like the Dirt, Grid, and Formula 1 series, and last year acquired the developer behind Project Cars. EA, of course, owns the Need for Speed franchise, so the Codemasters addition would give it further control over a huge chunk of the racing game market. The main competitors would be Sony’s Gran Turismo and Microsoft’s Forza series, both of which are exclusive to their publishers’ respective platforms. ## A Resident Evil 8 development build has apparently leaked Source: PCGamer.com https://www.pcgamer.com/a-resident-evil-8-development-build-has-apparently-leaked/ A development build for Resident Evil 8 has apparently leaked. The ransomware attack against Capcom continues to result in a slow leak of internal documents and software, of which this is just the latest. Screenshots have appeared across multiple forums and social media which appear to be from an internal development build of Resident Evil 8: Village, as they include development metrics on-screen. One of these images appears above with the metrics cropped out. This leak follows a leak of Village's supposed April release date last month. Both of these leaks have presumably come about as a result of Capcom refusing to pay hackers' ransom demands. Some images have been posted to an Imgur page, which was first linked on Reddit. Other caches of images appear on various web boards. ## Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble joins Nintendo Switch Online this week Source: Destructoid.com https://www.Destructoid.com/stories/donkey-kong-country-3-dixie-kong-s-double-trouble-joins-nintendo-switch-online-this-week-613514.phtml It's been a while since we got an update to the SNES Nintendo Switch Online and NES Nintendo Switch Online catalogs, but this week will see five games hit the platforms just in time for winter break. The biggest of the bunch is without a double Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble, the third and final entry in the DKC series on the SNES. Coming along with it are: - Tuff E Nuff (SNES) - Super Valis IV (SNES) - The Ignition Factor (SNES) - Nightshade (NES) All five of these games will be available for download on December 18. As somebody who never got around to beating Dixie Kong's Double Trouble, it'll be nice to cross that one off my list. I'll also be sure to use the extra coins code Nintendo shared for the title in the video below that details some of the codes you can enter to unlock secret levels, music, and more. ## Among Us comes to Nintendo Switch Source: VentureBeat https://venturebeat.com/2020/12/15/among-us-comes-to-nintendo-switch/ Nintendo announced that Among Us is coming to Switch later today during its Indie World Showcase event. Among Us debuted in 2018 for mobile and PC. This year, however, it became a giant hit thanks to people playing more games during the pandemic and looking for social experiences. The game has a group of players trying to complete tasks while one is secretly a murderous saboteur. It’s up to the non-murderers to figure out who the imposter is. This is the game’s first release for a console. It will feature cross-play support with other platforms. Earlier this year, developer Innersloth was working on a full sequel. When the original Among Us became a huge hit, however, it cancelled Among Us 2 so that it can focus on the first game (and it’s giant base of players). Among Us has become such a hit that it is beginning to attract imitators, with even Fortnite trying to distill its essence into a new experience. ## Xbox System Link Feature Works Across All Four Generations Source: GameRant.com https://gamerant.com/xbox-system-link-feature-works-across-four-generations/ A recent video from Modern Vintage Gamer shows the Xbox System Link feature can let people play multiplayer games across all four console generations. The purpose of the Xbox System Link feature is to allow players with multiple consoles to engage in multiplayer without relying on split-screen using LAN connections. The System Link continued to be supported to the Xbox 360, then the Xbox One, and now the Xbox Series X/S. Using the Xbox backward compatibility feature, Modern Vintage Gamer used System Link to play the same multiplayer game on all consoles. To demonstrate this, he played the Xbox original game Crimson Skies across all four consoles in the same room, including the Xbox Series S. Each was connected to their own screen and used ethernet cords for internet access, while the later console generations used backward compatibility to access the game. Modern Vintage Gamer was able to start the game on each console with no issue. The success shows Microsoft still supports the System Link feature even with the latest next-gen console. He even highlights that Microsoft could have patched out the feature in place of Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass. Instead, this appears to be an "inherited" feature built into every main console. This lines up with Microsoft's push for Xbox backward compatibility and Xbox Game Pass, as more games are added to the growing online library or use Xbox cloud save transfers. The video also shows the potential for cross-gen multiplayer gameplay. Players will be able to play some of their favorite games across all four consoles as they would with any modern game. It opens the door for bringing in more Xbox games from the original console to be backward compatible for all Xbox consoles. This doesn't mean that all Xbox original games are playable across all console generations, but the possibility is there for some games. The original Halo: Combat Evolved is an obvious candidate, as well as some of its sequels. As long as Microsoft continues to support the System Link feature, players will be able to enjoy their favorite multiplayer games across all four Xbox consoles. ## New Super Nintendo World At Universal Studios Footage Revealed Source: Gamespot.com https://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-super-nintendo-world-at-universal-studios-footage-revealed/1100-6485693/ If you ever wanted to know what it was like going through a warp pipe or traveling through an underground Super Mario video game level, you've come to the right place. Nintendo has revealed an all-new look at the upcoming Super Nintendo World theme park expansion at Universal Studios Japan, including a tour of a big portion of the area. In the video, Shigeru Miyamoto, who created the Super Mario franchise, walks around the land, pointing out the many things visitors will get to do. It all begins with a warp pipe, which you walk through to enter Peach's Castle, as seen in Mario 64. As Miyamoto explained, the castle music from Mario 64 will also greet you, and the land is filled with a variety of different songs from throughout the Super Mario franchise. At a glance, Super Nintendo World is incredibly impressive, and that's before anyone has set foot on the rides. The Mario Kart attraction is one of two that will be available when the land opens, the other is a family-friendly adventure in which guests will ride on Yoshi's back. You can take a look at everything Miyamoto explored in the land above. Super Nintendo World will open at Universal Studios Japan on February 4, 2021. The park is also coming to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando in the future. # 1. Did we just get Cyberpunk'd? ## CD Projekt Red Apology Letter ![](https://i.imgur.com/MCX1Ho3.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/QeLiw5A.jpg) ## Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds: Why Some Players Are Calling the Game a Failure How has Cyberpunk 2077 gone from one of the year's most anticipated games to a title that has fans begging for refunds? Here's what you need to know: We knew fans were going to want to manage their expectations for Cyberpunk 2077, but the post-release conversations and mad dashes for refunds have ensured that Cyberpunk 2077 will contend with The Last of Us Part 2 for the honor of being this year’s most divisive title. While we’ve previously covered the many, many controversies that impacted Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of its release, few could have predicted that the pre-release debates would only be the start of a much larger argument that has turned Cyberpunk 2077 into a title that has inspired venomous scorn and outright hate from many. It means players are covered by both platforms’ standard refund policies, which, in the case of Sony, explicitly prohibits refunds if you’ve already started playing a game “unless the content is faulty.” The confirmation came from the company’s senior vice president of business development, Michał Nowakowski, on an investor call held on Monday evening. “Microsoft and Sony have refund policies for every product that is released digitally on their storefronts,” Nowakowski said. “Despite several articles I’ve seen that things are being set up just for us, it’s actually not true — these policies are in place and have always been in place; they’re not offered specifically for us.” (Click the link to read more). Rockstar would do well to pay attention. Although Rockstar Games hasn't said anything official about the development of Grand Theft Auto 6, fans are now a little less anxious to hear news of the game than they were a few months ago, and it's all thanks to Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red's newest RPG released last week after multiple delays, but what players expected did not match the final product on display, especially for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users. While Cyberpunk 2077 is still worth playing on PC (especially for users who have a high-end graphics card) most other versions are more disappointing, something which is made even worse by the fact that these less-than-stellar versions were hidden from the public before release. It's a bug that's being addressed, the game's developer says. In the gritty near-future of "Cyberpunk 2077," vice is for sale at every corner. From fast-food to virtual pornography to budget-priced weaponry, Night City is a more technologically advanced version of the kind of city depicted in movies like "RoboCop" and "Taxi Driver." Despite all that grit and grime and taboo, there's one oddity that has stood out to players of "Cyberpunk 2077" enough that it's become a meme: For some reason, there are dildos everywhere. Ruled by corrupt corporations who earn a living exploiting their workforce, for many of its denizens there’s only one way to survive 2077’s brutality – by becoming the stuff of criminal legend. Be it making it big as a street racer or pulling off that legendary heist, one dream unites this cybernetically-enhanced populace: burning out in a blaze of gunfire and glory. Why? Because in Night City’s deadly dystopia life is harsh and fleeting, but legends never die. (Click the link to read more). After such a long time in development, CD Projekt Red have finally released their next masterpiece and it is one for the record books. Teams from all around the world helped bring the game to life, including studios from the Philippines. Our good friends from Pixel Mafia is one of the studios that worked tirelessly on the game. You can see more of their work in the upcoming title for the Xbox Series X Halo Infinite. Synergy 88 is one more studio that was tasked to work on the game, and we’d like to congratulate our good friend Juju and the rest of the team for such an achievement! Another one is Secret 6, who we interviewed before when The Last of Us Part II was released, worked on Cyberpunk 2077 as well. Congratulations Almira and the rest of the team! More and more Filipino talents are getting involved in world-class projects and it can only get better from here. Thanks for your hard work and for proudly raising the flag! So here we finally are, in Night City. Almost a decade after it was first announced, CD Projekt’s massively ambitious role-playing game has launched into a swirling maelstrom of hype and controversy that befits its salacious, histrionic setting. Like the technological MacGuffin at the centre of the plot, Cyberpunk 2077 is highly advanced and ingenious, but also bug-ridden and irresponsible. You play as V, a cybernetically enhanced street hustler looking to make their name on these squalid, vicious streets, taking infiltration and assassination jobs for the gangs who’ve carved up the criminal underworld. While attempting to steal a cutting-edge biochip from a powerful corporation, you implant it in your own head, unknowingly infecting yourself with the digital ghost of dead rocker and anarchist Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves, essentially playing Theodore “Ted” Logan’s asshole brother). If you don’t get him out of your brain, you’ll both die. (Click the link to read more).
