**Goal: Make it possible for community members to team up around ideas** Every DAO adheres to the [IOTA Code of Conduct](https://github.com/iota-community/IOTA-eXperience-Team/blob/main/CODE-OF-CONDUCT.md) to be officially recognized. ⚠️ **WARNING:** This document outlines some strategies that are going to publicly expose people (e.g. LinkedIn profile) act accordingly if staying anonymous is a pre-requisite for you. # **DAO Leaders** ## **Step 0: Present your idea** - Write manifesto - Post manifesto to IOTA subreddit, on Medium or preferred platform - Lead the discussion on reddit and IOTA Discord - Request IOTA Discord channel and role at IF Write a short *[manifesto](https://www.britannica.com/topic/manifesto)* which explains what your DAO would like to discuss, build or achieve and post it to the [IOTA Subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/iota), on Medium or preferred platform, to find other people interested and start discussing your idea. **Resources** [[DRAFT] Manifesto template](https://hackmd.io/@tPxwddC0R3uDaZSGNlIInA/S1YF0kXOt) [[DRAFT] Reddit post template] [[DRAFT] IOTA Discord Resources request] ## **Step 1: Grow your DAO** - Make people aware that your DAO exist - Define a meetings strategy - Public agenda - Hold meetings - Social media At this stage it is important to let people in the ecosystem know that your DAO exists. Post information and achievements no matter how small of you DAO to the #general channel on the IOTA Discord and invite them to be active in your channel/add role to be pinged e.g. - <DAO> has now 5/10/50/100 member - <DAO> agenda for the upcoming meeting - <DAO> going to have a meeting on the <DATE> - Here the last <DAO> meeting notes Keeping DAO members in the loop helps them to understand what is going on and how to participate in the DAO. Define clear and simple tasks to achieve and discussion points for the meetings Organize monthly/bi-weekly or weekly meetings based on the possibility. Keep the meetings short. It is easier to join a 30 minutes meeting than a 2 hours meeting. A clear agenda supports the moderation of the meeting and to focus about the discussion points. Remember to ping the DAO's role when you want to make them aware of news or upcoming meetings. Leverage social media platforms like the IOTA subreddit, Twitter, IOTA Telegram groups and others of preference to share information about the DAO. ## **Step 2: Step up the game** Once the DAO has gotten some traction e.g. - Is active for 6 months - Has reached 50 members - ... it could be the case to add some structure to the DAO. Suggested steps in no special order: - Set up a website using [Notion.so](http://notion.so/), GitHub Pages or the preferred way - Set up own Discord server [IF TODO Discord server template] - Find developers - Set up a [DAO](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_DAO_(organization)) to manage investments
