# User testing template ## Qualitative interview guide **Introduction** *Introduce yourself, briefly explain the purpose of the test and allow the participant(s) to comment or ask questions.* Q1:Explaination of purpose wasn't really needed here as Thamer is an emlyon student that has the webdesign clas as well. **General information related to the topic** *Query the tester with general questions. Talk about his habits.* Q4:Do you like to go to bars? Yes I love to go out. In fact, that is even how I choose the location of my flat because I am going to bars all the time and it is just nice when you live close by Q5:Do you have specific beer preferences? Yes, I actually do. Apart from that I love all kinds of beers, I prefer mostly quite strong & herbal brews. Q6:Do you think you know all the great bars in Lyon? Probably not. Lyon is a student city that really has tons of bars. I'd be confident enough to say that I know the cool ones close by but not every one. **Behavior related to particular issues** *Ask him to express himself on your application, product or service. Feel free to use the prototype for this part.* Q7:How do you feel about an app suggesting you a route in which you'd visit great bars that meet your beer taste? You kidding, I'd love that! Especially when I am visiting new towns I love to explore them through their bars. An app that helps me here and enables me to have a really cool night would be loads of fun. Q8:Would you only use this as a tourist or also in your hometown Lyon? I would probably rather use it as a tourist since it is connected to renting/riding an autonomous car which I don't really need here. However, I could imagine using it if you would offer walking routes through the cities with different bars. Especially, when it would be about exploring new districts Q9:What is your first impression of our application? It is quite straight forward. I like the logo and the background picture! **Constructive suggestions for improvement** *Ask him how you could improve your prototype* Q10:Well as I've said already you could add an option for walking routes. I also just thought that it could me nice to meet new people through such an experience. Especially as a tourist when you would want to get in touch with new people at best locals. If you could for example opt to share a ride with lets say 2 other beer lovers looking for a route through town, I could imagine that beeing fun ::: --- :::warning ## Testcard ## Pre-testing **Name:** Thamer Kalfan **Age:** 28 **Occupation:** Student **Context of the meeting (where, with who, etc.):** I, Konstantin, asked my friend Thamer from which I know that he is a tech and beer lover to give us his opinion about the app. I visited him at his appartment for this purpose **Duration of the meeting:** 45 minutes ## User scenarios testing **1st instruction** (this is your first scenario): You are arriving on the home screen of the app. Plan your first ride. **Observations:** He finds the trip selection straight away and succesfully monitors through the process, it seems to be easily understandable. --- **2nd instruction:** (this is your second scenario): Please modify your preferences now. **Observations:** Once back on the home screen he monitors through this process really easily and fast as well. We've only realised that it is quite hard as to say impossible to get back to the home screen in the process of filling out the preferences ## Qualitative testing **Positive feedback:** - I like the idea and the looks of the app - it is quite easy to monitor the app and fill in the needed information - The preference scheme and the demanded information is nice --- **Neutral feedback:** - I think it would be doable to have the preference questions all on one page, that would look much nicer and make the app even easier to handle --- **Negative feedback:** - It would be nice to have some sort of navigation menu to get back to the home screen really easily for example - It would be nice to have a visualization of a planned trip in the end. I think it could be really nice to have several options on a map from which you could choose - The choice of colors could be more thought through at some points --- **Learning & insights:** We need to make the navigation through the app more user-friendly. We could add a navigation bar at the bottom or the side or at least at a home button. Another option would be to have back and forth buttons on the sides and a home button on the buttom. We could work on the visualization of the preference choice & the eventual ouput thus the suggested routes. --- **Decisions & actions:** Basically what we have mentioned in the learnings. - add a navigation tool - work on visualization of preferences and suggested routes :::
