# Karen Exit Interview
### Exit Interview
#### 1. Why are you leaving? (Why did you start looking for another job?)
I need to work with a colleague (can't work alone in the office). I've asked many times what is the direction of Hong Kong office, will we be expanding / hire more people, but I don't think we will be able to hire anyone in the upcoming months. My only social life is my work life.
Ego problem - Reese and Amanda is less experienced than me but is at the same rank / higher rank than me. Sometimes it's hard for me to get pass that.
#### 2. What could we have done to keep you here?
Hire more people in Hong Kong.
Sometimes when I check out Caroline's IG I can see that TW team has very good
team relationship, and we don't have that in Hong Kong.
#### 3. Were you comfortable talking to your manager?
Both OK. (Hilly & Caroline)
#### 4a. What things could your manager have done better?
Communication. (but sometimes I understand she is also being pushed by other forces)
#### 4b. What things did your manager do well?
#### 4c. What things could your CEO have done better? Did well?
Give more space to everybody. We are all human, not part of the system, everyone have their own thought process and ways of doing things, but now Edwin is asking everyone to act like a clone.
#### 4d. What things could your peers have done better? Did well?
Reese is very helpful in terms of work. (but I am lacking emotional support)
George and Kitty are the opposite, they gave me a lot of emotional support.
#### 4e. (If applicable) What things could your subordinates have done better? Did well?
N/A
#### 5. What would you change about the company right now?
Less process, it's wasting a lot of time, many things can't send out becuz the process is not done correctly, I think startup should be very agile.
#### 6. What is the company doing well?
Less KPI driven, in large firm you will get fired if not meeting targets for 3 months.
#### 7. How would you describe the company's culture?
Like a school, we are all here to learn a completely new way of doing things.
#### 8. Did you feel like a valuable part of the company?
Early stage yes, until after Sep, not so much anymore (since search honing than no more).
#### 9. What would you change about your job: Are there any strengths you have that we didn't take full advantage of (that you'd have wanted us to)?
Search is my weak area, my strongest area is actually account manager, but not T1 way of account management.
#### 10. Did you feel that you had something more to contribute in leadership and was unable to?
Difficult in terms of time management, cuz leadership and search both takes 100% of time, it's mutually exclusive. I didn't think about it that much.
#### 11. What is the single largest thing we should do to increase morale for as many people as possible?
I don't like that everything has to follow a template. It's like a total failure if the template fail. I think search honing is the right thing to do but continue doing it every week and for every job, is very exhausting and we need a polished backend to support the whole thing.
The Search honing is like a punishment, it listed out all the little steps you've done and if you fail, it seems to be your fault and very stressful.
#### 12. Do you have any other issues or comments you'd like to address?
Interestingly I've raised all my issues few months ago in the issue log, but turns out I am the only one who had those problems (e.g. can't find candidate), and then my issue not being addressed. I've actually already flagged my issues / difficulties few months before I resign.
#### 13. Would you ever consider returning to this Company? (If yes, under what circumstances?)
Will not say no. But at this moment there's still a lot of hates for T1, but also a lot of love. Maybe will love T1 again one day.
#### 14. Is there anything I can offer you to stay?
No. At this moment.
