# Quiz6 of Computer Architecture (2025 Fall)

1. You will not share or discuss quiz content with anyone until the official solutions are released.
2. **Screenshots and the use of any image processing tools are strictly prohibited.**
3. For proofreading, you may use tools such as [QuillBot](https://quillbot.com/) or [Grammarly](https://www.grammarly.com/).
* **You are not allowed to use AI tools to solve the problems during the quiz**. AI tools may only be used to help you understand the descriptions and for proofreading.
* Download the PDF document at the bottom of this page, which contains the problem set for Quiz 6. You will be prompted to enter a password. Ensure that you have read the notice at the end of this page.
* Each question is worth **1 points**, except Problem `X`
* Answers must be given in valid numeric form and/or English alphabet, except when writing your formal name.
* Always provide the shortest correct form. For example, write `ptr->member` instead of `(*ptr).member`.
* Assume that every C program in this quiz already includes the following headers:
`<assert.h>`, `<stdint.h>`, `<stddef.h>`, `<stdlib.h>`, `<stdio.h>`, `<stdbool.h>`, and `<string.h>`.
* The C standard for reference is C99, formally specified as [ISO/IEC 9899:2018](https://www.iso.org/standard/74528.html).
* ==Bonus Opportunity==: After class resumes at 11:00 AM (Room 4203), if you voluntarily participate in the class discussion, please email the instructor your responses to the questions along with any follow-up contributions. The password is derived from a notification email sent by the course instructor regarding the term project. In that message, students were explicitly required to reply with a signed statement. What is the **final word** of the required statement that must be included in the reply?

:warning: During the exam, you must answer the instructor’s designated questions orally. After the exam, you are required to continue attending the class starting at 11:00 AM, during which the teaching assistant will verify your understanding of each question through one-on-one discussions.

By December 28, you must compile the instructor’s questions, your responses, any follow-up discussions, and clear references to the corresponding lecture materials (including where they appear and how they are described) into a newly created HackMD note. The note must be set to **publicly viewable** and **editable by logged-in users**.

Any answer must clearly indicate which lecture material it is based on, including the specific document, page, and section. Answers derived primarily from web searches or AI tools, without proper reference to the lecture materials, will not be considered valid.

Afterward, send the note to the course instructor at `<[e-mail]>` and the teaching assistant at `<[e-mail]>`. In the same message, you must also describe your experiences and observations in the course to date. This email must be written entirely in English. The subject line must include your legal name, and follow this exact format: `CA2025: ___ at Quiz6`. Replace `___` with your given name.

Only upon completing all of these requirements will you receive credit.

(25 points) This course emphasizes active interaction between the instructor and students. Following the teaching assistant's instructions, you will go to the podium to answer the instructor’s questions. After responding orally, you must, in accordance with the requirements above, organize the follow-up discussions—primarily the connections between your assignments and the questions, how you would design experiments to validate your answers, and any related engineering issues you identified—and clearly cite the relevant course materials, including where they appear and how they are described.
