# IAGA School 2023

Build on these as an open resource.

The aim of those notebooks is to showcase the breadth of IAGA science, giving students a basic introduction to different areas, and signpost toward deeper resources. While they use Python, the focus is on teaching the scientific aspects: the notebooks can provide graphical interfaces to demonstrate ideas where feasible, but they have the code there for the reader to inspect/adjust if they want.

The notebooks are published on the web so they can be discovered and browsed. For interaction, they are linked to the Swarm VRE (free-to-access cloud-based Jupyter environment, provided by ESA): this provides the execution environment that works with the notebooks, and persistent storage. No need to install anything on students' computers, and they can revisit the notebooks, make their own changes, and write new ones.
