# The Introduction of Susa
中文介紹: https://hackmd.io/lxkyIgRZS7KQG8eWhJT5Bg
## Background
In 2019, the Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan executed the biggest changes of its education curriculum, 108 Curriculum (2019 in R.O.C Calander form). They're expected to create more free time for students to explore their hobbies in schools by reducing the compulsory credits and adding more elective credits.
However, the society has developed the mindset that the high school student should spend all the time in studying the academic subjects while the other things can wait until getting into a good college. The "entrance exam" system, which have been applied many years, causes that most of the students would use their "free" time to work on college application essays and to paricipate in many camps without a true purpose just for getting the certificates that makes them look good in the application process. These kinds of "conventional" mindset are against the sprits of 108 Curriculum: Self-movtivation, Helping each other, and Growing together.
## What is Susa
Susa is a student project community formed by students who have unique ideas and want to change the world. We hope to utilize our power in the way of conducting independent student-initiated projects. Meanwhile, we want to establish a campus ecology in Taiwan where students can engage in independent projects and even entrepreneurship.
In keeping with the current wave of social movements and the implementation of educational reforms, we will gather student project teams from all over Taiwan to work together for making the land we step upon better. In addition to rasing the influence of Taiwanese students on this society, we want to let students across Taiwan know that there are many other choices of school life besides making presentations and writing essays.
## How do we do it
The Susa team is planning a Slack (similar to g0v's Slack, but this one is mainly for students) that will allow student organizations across Taiwan to support each other.
We will invite all student organizations from all over Taiwan (whether they have already accomplished something or just get started) to join the Slack.
We will let student groups interact with each other so that they won't feel lonely when working on their projects (like g0v),
but the major difference from g0v is that this community is not limited to technological projects.
It will also involve some student self-media such as One-six Taipei and Circular Economy Jr.
## What we are doing
We are now looking for partners!
Susa is an open community. Anyone or any team can join Susa. We hope to connect student teams accross Taiwan to form a powerful force and influence this society. The following is a list of current participating teams:
- Keedos.
- Innoforest
- Reitien Technology
## Currently working on
- [x] Build up a slack server
- [ ] Invite student groups to join the community
- [ ] Community playbook
- [ ] CoC (Code of Conduct)
## What can you help as a supporter
Due to the fact that we are just getting started, we need some enthusiastic g0vers and supporters who also wants to bring entrepreneurship into Taiwan's education system to assist us on building up the community. You can help us or the student groups in the community in any way (such as being a mentor, collaborating with the student teams or organizations, or donating to us). Or you can simply chat with the students to increase the activity of the community. Finally, we invite you to join Susa to create the Taiwanese (or even Asian) community of "Student Hacking" together!
