# *The Graph India Q2 2023 Proposal* <hr>
**About Me :** *As a passionate Graph Advocate, web3 developer, and teacher, I have dedicated my career to exploring the possibilities of decentralized technology. I have a unique perspective on the potential of web3 and the role that ***The Graph*** will play in shaping the future of the decentralized web. I am committed to sharing my knowledge and experience with others, and I believe that through education and collaboration, we can build a more equitable and secure digital future.*
**The Story :** *I was in Banglore, India from 2 Dec. 2022 to 4 Dec. 2022 to attend ETHIndia as a Graph Advocate where I got an opportunity to meet some of the amazing people from The Graph Ecosystem, which included **Martin, and Matt from The Graph Foundation, and Pranav, Simon, and Krishna from Edge & Node.** During my conversation with Martin, we discussed how The Graph needs a stronger community presence in India because of the growing developer and web3 presence here. We also discussed how beneficial it would be to have someone here in India to host events, lead social channels, and engage the local community. This is when the idea of building The Graph India first came to me.*
***Why **The Graph** should have a strong community presence in India?***
*There are several reasons why The Graph protocol should focus on building a strong community in India:*
1. **Large developer population:** *India has a large and growing population of developers, many of whom are interested in decentralized technologies and blockchain. By building a community in India, The Graph can tap into this pool of talent and encourage more developers to build using the protocol.*
2. **Potential for growth:** *India is a rapidly growing market for technology and has a large number of potential users for decentralized applications. By building a strong community in India, The Graph can help to promote the use and adoption of the protocol in this market.*
3. **Diversifying the community:** *Building a community in India will also help diversify The Graph community, which will bring different perspectives and ideas to protocol development and use cases.*
***How will a strong community in India contribute to the growth of The Graph ecosystem?***
*A strong community can contribute to the growth of the The Graph ecosystem in several ways:*
1. **Development and improvement of the protocol:** *A strong community of developers can contribute to the development and improvement of the The Graph Protocol by identifying bugs, building subgraphs, suggesting new features, and contributing to the open-source code.*
2. **Adoption and usage of the protocol:** *A strong community can help us to increase the adoption and usage of The Graph Protocol by promoting it to potential users and encouraging others to build on top of it. This can help to increase the network effect and the value of the protocol for all participants.*
3. **Education and awareness:** *A strong community can play a critical role in educating and raising awareness about The Graph protocol and its benefits. They can provide a platform for people to learn about the protocol and its potential use cases.*
4. **Governance :** *A strong community can contribute to the governance of the protocol by participating in decision-making processes and ensuring that the protocol is developed in a way that aligns with the values and interests of the community.*
5. **Building trust:** *A strong community can play a key role in building trust in The Graph protocol by providing a platform for developers, users, and stakeholders to interact and collaborate. This can help to build trust in the ecosystem and promote the use of The Graph protocol.*
6. **Innovation and experimentation:** *A strong community can help to foster innovation and experimentation by providing a platform for people to share their ideas and collaborate on projects.*
7. **Network effects:** *A strong community can help to increase the number of users and developers in the ecosystem, which in turn increases the value of the network for all participants.*
*A strong community can contribute to the growth of The Graph ecosystem by promoting the protocol and its benefits, contributing to its development, fostering innovation and experimentation, promoting network effects, and building trust among the community members.*
## ***What is The Graph India's vision?***
*We want to create a vibrant and inclusive community of individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing the understanding and use of The Graph protocol in India, through education, collaboration, and innovation, to drive decentralized web adoption.*

## ***How we are going to achieve these goals?***
*To achieve the goals and objectives listed above we as a community planning to organise following community-oriented events:*
***1. Hackathons:*** *To encourage innovation and collaboration by bringing together developers, designers and other experts.*
***2. Workshops:*** *To provide hands-on training and learning opportunities on specific topics.*
***3. Meetups:*** *To build community and foster discussions on the latest trends and developments.*
***4. Bootcamps :*** *Bootcamps can be a source for The Graph protocol to hire new talent with the skills required for their projects.*
***5. Code sprints:*** *to encourage collaboration and accelerate the development of open-source projects.*
## ***Who are going to help us to achieve these goals and organise these events?***
***1.Community organizations:*** *There may be local community organizations or meetup groups that are focused on web3, blockchain, or graph technology. These groups can be a valuable resource for finding attendees and helping to promote the event. We are already in talk with some of indian web3 communities.*
***2.Partners:*** *The Graph India can partner with other organizations or individuals in the web3 and blockchain space to jointly host events and reach a wider audience.*
***3.Sponsors:*** *Sponsors can provide financial support for the event, helping to cover costs and ensure that it runs smoothly.*
***4.Volunteers:*** *A volunteer network can provide additional support for the event, from helping to promote it to handling logistics on the day of the event.*
***5. Graph Advocates:*** *We have 30 Advocates from India but currently we are in touch of 11 Advocates.Advocates can help to build a strong and engaged community around The Graph, providing valuable opportunities for members to learn, connect, and collaborate. This not only promotes The Graph and its potential, but also helps to drive innovation and growth in the decentralized technology ecosystem. We plan to add 30 new Advocates to Graph Advocates during Q2 of 2023.*
***6. The Graph OGs:*** *People who are working for different core team are going to be backbone of this community we are going to work with them to organise diffrent workshop and bootcamps. We already have a support of **Pranav** and **Krishna** from **Edge & Node** and they are actively helping us to build this community.*
***7. The Graph Foundation:*** *The Graph Foundation can play a key role in building a strong community in India by providing support, resources, and incentives to its members.*
## *What are our goals for Q2 2023 ?*
*Since this is our first year as a community we want to focus on building trust within the web3 ecosystem by providing value and we want to be very specific about our goals for the first year.*
*Our goals includes:*
**1.** *We will organize a subgraph development bootcamp, which is going to **8** weeks long.I was a part of two of Graphrica bootcamps as a student and learned a lot of things there. We are planning to have a similar kind of bootcamps but in a more structure way so that we can provide better learning experience. We are going to start with Subgraph Development but in near future we will also start teaching Substream , firehose etc.*
