Jack's father, Murray, disappeared during an expedition to Antarctica and never returned. After one month, everyone gave up on search and rescue, and accepted the fact that Murray was dead. But Jack didn't want to believe this fact and just give up, becuase of this, Jack wanted to go to Antarctica to find his missing father. Jack's mother needed to make money in order to raise Jack alone, so she didn't have time to care about Jack emotionally. Jack is a self-reliant person, but not good at expressing his emotions. Jack speaks in a very straightforward blunt way. Although his intentions are good, it often makes people around him feel uncomfortable. Therefore, Jack has no friends and he is unwilling to reach out to others. Jack is very stubborn, he will definitely do what he thinks he should do. Jack has always thought he was more mature than his peers,but in fact he wanted to be accepted by others. No student has participated in the Antarctic Scientific Expedition before. ## Plot ### Scene 1 #### Character 0 : [0 0 0 0] -> [0 0 1 0] #### Character 1 : [0 0 0] -> [0 0 0] The teacher asks students to talk about what they want to do during the holidays. Unlike everyone else, Jack says he is going to Antarctica to find his father. ### Scene 2 #### Character 0 : [0 0 1 0] -> [1 2 2 1] #### Character 1 : [0 0 0] -> [0 0 0] After class, Jack overheard the skepticism of his classmates about his dream. Jack yelled at them that they were wrong and he would succeed. But he suddenly discovered that the money and his notebook he had with him for the Antarctic journey was lost. ### Scene 3 #### Character 0 : [1 2 2 1] -> [1 0 2 1] #### Character 1 : [0 0 0] -> [0 0 0] Nick accidentally found Jack's lost money and notebook. After reading the notebook, Nick felt that Jack was serious about goint to Antartica and not just talking about it. Nick gave Jack's things back to him, but asked Jack to tell him the complete plan. ### Scene 4 #### Character 0 : [1 0 2 1] -> [1 0 3 2] #### Character 1 : [0 0 0] -> [1 2 2] Jack thought Nick was just going to laugh at him like other classmates, so Jack had a bad attitude towards Nick and just told him his plan casually. ### Scene 5 #### Character 0 : [1 0 3 2] -> [2 0 4 3] #### Character 1 : [1 2 2] -> [1 0 3] But instead of laughing at him, Nick asked him a few key questions. Jack realized that Nick was really interested in his plans. So Jack became more than happy to discuss the details of his plan with Nick. After hearing his great plan, Nick also got excited. ### Scene 6 #### Character 0 : [2 0 4 3] -> [3 0 4 4] #### Character 1 : [1 0 3] -> [2 2 4] Jack received a message from Nick, saying that he found out about someone that had decided to sponsor an Antarctic expedition, but requested an hour of live streaming every day to show the environment and life in Antarctica. They managed to reach out to the sponsor and convinced him that it would be more appealing if students were to do the live streaming. They need to pass tests in order to be selected to join expeditions. These tests included fitness tests and Antarctic knowledge tests. The fitness tests were not difficult for them. But Nick was not familiar with the relevant knowledge of Antarctica. ### Scene 7 #### Character 0 : [3 0 4 4] -> [3 0 4 4] #### Character 1 : [2 2 4] -> [2 3 4] After the tests, the officer announced that Jack and Nick got the same scores. Therefore, the election committee must determine who is selected through a playoff interview. Jack hoped Nick can give him the spot, but didn't know how to say it. ### Scene 8 #### Character 0 : [3 0 4 4] -> [3 0 4 4] #### Character 1 : [2 3 4] -> [3 0 4] In the additional interview, Nick passed the interview by virtue of his rich wild survival knowledge. After the interview, Nick told Jack he could give the spot to Jack because Jack's dream is more important. However, Jack said your dream was equally important as mine. ### Scene 9 #### Character 0 : [3 0 4 4] -> [4 2 4 4] #### Character 1 : [3 0 4] -> [4 0 4] Nick contacted the sponsor privately and told him the Jack's story. The sponsor felt Jack's story was a great start for the live streaming, thus he told Nick he was willing to sponsor Jack if Jack could tell his story in the live streaming. Nick told Jack this and Jack was very touched. Jack said he needed to ask his monther. Jack's mother appeared and she was very angry. She couldn't understand why Jack was so obsessed with going to Antarctica. She had lost her husband there and she felt that she might lose her son as well. She refused to agree with Jack's decision to go to Antarctica. ### Scene 10 #### Character 0 : [4 2 4 4] -> [4 0 4 4] #### Character 1 : [4 0 4] -> [4 0 4] Jack told Nick that he probably wouldn't be able to go because his mother disagreed and they had a quarrel. Without told Jack, Nick showed Jack's mother's Antarctic notebook to Jack's mother and explained just how much Jack wanted to achieve his dream which was not just about finding Jack's missing father. All of this made Jack's mother understand that Jack was not that child who wanted to go to Antarctica only to find his father anymore, but also a young adult chasing his beautiful dream. She realized she had to let him go. She had another conversation with Jack. She told Jack that she allowed Jack to go to Antarctica and asked him to cherish his friendship with Nick.
