## Plot

### Scene 1

After the war, Violet was sent to work for a company that helped clients write letters. The main job here is to help clients refine and express their emotions to the recipient. Because of the war, Violet doesn't understand these emotions, thus she can't write a good letter. However, before John died he told Violet "I love you". This makes Violet want to understand what is the meaning of love.

Before Violet can officially work, she must pass the writing school exam. The final exam was to help Mary write a letter to her brother, but Violet has been unable to write a letter that can express emotions correctly. Violet failed the exam, but she is more eager to understand these emotions.

Violet starts to reading the books and stories about the love.

One day, Mary saw her brother lying down on the street. She ran up to ask what happened, but she was scolded by her brother. Mary knew that her brother had become like this because of the war. She hoped that she could help her out of this illness. Violet saw this and cause her more want to help Mary write this letter.

After reading a lot of books, the stories in the book make Violet even more want to understand what is love. But the stories in the book couldn't make her feel empathy. Mary saw her brother who was depressed every day at home, thus she hoped that she could do something for him.

By chance, violet came to a room full of letters. The administrator told her that these letters had become undeliverable due to the war (the recipient could not be found because of the war). These letters are filled with all kinds of love from the senders to the recipients.
Mary found her brother lying down on the street again.

And This time there was blood on Mary's borther clothes. Obviously, Mary's brother just had a fight with someone。

Mary took her brother home and cried by the bed. Violet came and told Mary that she was ready to write that letter.

Mary's letter expressed her gratitude and love for her brother. She told her brother that she had never blame him because of the death of their parents, but thanked him for surviving after the war and for she could still have a family.
After the letter was written, Violet finally understood the last words of the officer and what the love was. Mary's brother woke up, he scolded to Violet and tried to kick her out of the room.

After reading the letter, the Mary's brother finally understood Mary's emotion, and also understood that there are still someone still needs him and loves him. He apologized to Violet and Mary.
