Fundamentally, politics is about systems of trust. You can provide clear, logical arguments for why apartments are good, single-family zoning is segregation, and why there's a racism problem in this town -

But who's going to believe any of that if they don't know *who* you are?

You try to rush through that first phase, and you can end up with nothing.

And really, why am I in a rush?
