# FOSDEM 2026 31 January - 1 February 2026, Bruxelles, Belgium CFP: https://lists.fosdem.org/pipermail/fosdem/2025q4/003686.html ## Talk proposal **Proposal title**: Bringing a community to the cloud (the true one!) **Session type**: talk **Track**: "community" **Abstract**: SRE France is a French association organising meetups and events around SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and DevOps topics. Above the educational aspect, the primary purpose of those events is to provide community a room for discussions, feedback and experience on the usage of various SRE/DevOps technologies and concepts. Started as a local Meetup group in Paris, the community extended the scope to more French cities as "the tech is not only made in Paris". The primary need for those events were not the slides nor the presentations but the actual conversation. Based on this observation, a two-days event has been organized, two years in a row, in the mountains: talks in the morning, activities in the afternoon (hiking, climbing, board games). One main focus: provide an actual and relaxing time dedicated to community conversation about the talks seen in the morning.
