## 3. Activation if You Purchased Our Configuration Service

Turn on the tracker with the ON/OFF switch or connect it to power if there is no switch. After turning on, the tracker needs up to several minutes to collect the first location data.
<a id="Aktywacja"></a>
## 4. Activation if You Purchased Your Own SIM Card
### Step 1: Purchase a SIM Card
You need to purchase a SIM card that has an active data plan. You can do this with any mobile operator such as Orange, Plus, Play, T-Mobile, or another local operator.
### Step 2: Prepare the SIM Card
1. Make sure the SIM card has sufficient balance for GPRS internet access.
2. Disable the SIM card PIN code. You can do this by inserting the card into a phone and turning off the SIM PIN in the SIM settings.
### Step 3: Install the SIM Card in the Tracker
1. Open the GPS tracker’s cover/cap.
2. Insert the SIM card into the appropriate slot.
3. Turn on the tracker with the ON/OFF switch or connect it to power if there is no switch.
4. Close the cover/cap.
### Step 4: APN Settings
For the tracker to work and appear in the app as active, you need to configure the APN settings. This can be done via an SMS command.
**Sending an SMS with the APN command:**
For most operators, it is enough to send the following SMS, e.g. **from the phone you use daily**, to **the number of the SIM card located in the powered-on tracker**:
APN,internet#

>**NOTE: Make sure that the SMS you send does not contain any spaces before or after the above content.**
**During activation, try to ensure the tracker is not in a location with limited coverage, such as an underground garage or basement.**
If after sending the above SMS you did not receive a return message confirming correct configuration, it is possible that the SMS syntax may vary depending on the SIM card’s network operator. To verify this, please find the correct name for the APN functionality by typing **APN name (Name of your operator)** into a search engine such as Google. In that case, you will need to change the word "internet" in the SMS you send. Below is an example for the Virgin Mobile operator:
APN,virgin-internet#
If the activation problem persists, please contact us at sklep@spreest.pl or by phone through our technical support.
>**NOTE: After intentionally sending the command, please wait several minutes until the tracker becomes active in the app.**

## 9. Command Description
## NOTE
When using SIM cards purchased from us as part of the configuration, it is not possible to send the commands below via SMS. They can only be sent via the website www.whatsgps.com
For some trackers, this function will not be available at all. In such cases, please contact us so we can enable sending such commands via the website.

After logging in, select the tracker you are interested in. When the above window pops up, select the option indicated by the red arrow.

<a id="Nagrywanie"></a>
## 11. Recording Feature Description
>**NOTE: If you use a SIM card purchased from us, we advise against using this feature. From the suggested operating time of a single package lasting several months, its lifetime may be reduced to even 1–2 months.
>Furthermore, due to the card’s specifics, after setting the primary number, it is not possible to make calls to listen to the tracker’s surroundings.**
The tracker has a recording function. All recordings are available in the app under the **Recording** option from the subsection above. You can send a request for the tracker to start recording ambient sounds for a time ranging from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
There is also an option to set automatic recording; below we provide commands that can be sent via SMS or via the website in the manner described in the subsection **"SMS Commands and Instructions"**:
#### Enable automatic recording
- **Command:** `SNDREC,1#`
- Value 1 means enabled, 0 disabled.
#### Recording segmentation
- **Command:** `MSREC, sec#`
- **Example:** `MSREC,30#`
- The given value must be between 30 and 300 and must be a multiple of 30.
#### Adjust sensitivity
- **Command:** `SENLEL,level#`
- **Example:** `SENLEL,3#`
- Values to enter are from 1 to 5. The lower the number, the better the sensitivity. The default value is 3.
In addition to the recording function, it is also possible to call in order to listen to the tracker’s surroundings.
After selecting the **Command** option from the tracker’s main view, a list of commands configuring the tracker’s operation will be displayed. Depending on the tracker, select **Owner’s Number** or **Primary Number.** The app will ask you to enter the number from which you will want to call; in some cases, you will also need to provide the password you use when logging in to the app account. The app will inform you whether the action was successful.
When the tracker is powered, it will be possible to call the number of the SIM card located in the tracker.
<a id="FAQ"></a>
## 12. Frequently Asked Questions
<a id="elo"></a>
### 12.1 I purchased more than one tracker — can I combine them into a single account?
Absolutely, this is possible. Please contact us at sklep@spreest.pl. In the email, please include the following information:
- Order number or other personal data that will allow us to verify the order
- IMEI numbers of the devices you want to link under one account
After receiving the above information, we will send a reply with your login and password for the WhatsGPS app.
### 12.2 I forgot the password for the account linked to the tracker.
Please contact us at sklep@spreest.pl. In the email, please include the IMEI number and personal data that will allow us to verify the order. After receiving the above information, we will send a reply with your new login and password for the WhatsGPS app.
### 12.3 The tracker does not indicate its position accurately.
Due to the current location, the tracker may have trouble with GSM communication (e.g., the tracker is in a basement or underground garage). Please move with the tracker to find better coverage.
### 12.4 What is the cellular data usage in the default tracking mode?
If the tracker is used solely for positioning, the package offered with our SIM card, i.e., 500 MB, should be enough for a minimum of 16 months of continuous operation, assuming the tracker operates actively no more than 8 hours per day. The package’s lifetime may be shorter in cases such as:
- Continuous tracker operation in real-time positioning mode
- Enabling options such as listening — with active device listening, the package offered with our SIM card may not last even 2 months.
- Other additional options that go beyond simple device positioning.
### 12.5 The tracker appears as offline in the app.
Possible reasons include:
- Incorrect initial SIM card configuration
- No power to the tracker; for battery-powered trackers, the battery may have discharged.
- For battery-powered trackers with intelligent standby mode enabled, until the tracker is woken up via vibration, it will appear inactive.
- Due to its current location, the tracker may have trouble with GSM communication (e.g., the tracker is in a basement or underground garage)
- The SIM card may be inactive due to subscription expiration/lack of data package. For SIM cards sold by us, please contact sklep@spreest.pl to determine whether you have an active data package.
- The tracker has not been activated.
### 12.6 I traveled outside Poland and the tracker stopped working.
For a SIM card purchased on your own, this may indicate incorrect configuration of the SIM’s roaming operation. In such a case, you must contact the operator for information on configuring the SIM card for operation outside Poland.
It may also be necessary to resend the activation SMS, because sometimes in roaming the SIM connects to a different operator. For example — a SIM card from the Plus operator outside Poland may start connecting to a different operator; in such a case, please refer back to the beginning of the instructions: **4. Activation if You Purchased Your Own SIM Card > Step 4: APN Settings**
<a id="pakiet"></a>
### 12.7 How much data from the package purchased from you have we used?
If you want to find out the SIM card account status, please contact us via email at sklep@spreest.pl or by phone through our technical support.
We will reply with how much of the package has been used and how long it will remain active.
### 12.8 Another problem with the tracker/app
If you have another problem that is not described above, please contact us via email at sklep@spreest.pl or by phone through our technical support.
