## 1. Product Introduction <a name="product-introduction"></a>
The R56L tracker is an OBD positioning terminal that offers many functions and wide applicability. The device uses the AT6558R chip and supports GPS satellite systems. In addition to satellite positioning, the device also supports single and multi-point base station positioning. It has extended functions such as equipment monitoring, which ensures reliable and stable device operation over a long time and automatic recovery in case of abnormalities.
## 2. Logging into the WhatsGPS App <a name="logging-in"></a>
1. Download the WhatsGPS app from the App Store or Google Play. You can also log in directly on the website [https://whatsgps.com/](https://whatsgps.com/).

**QR code to download the app from `Google Play`:**

**QR code to download the app from the `App Store`:**

2. Log in to the app using the IMEI code (found on the device or packaging as a sticker) or using the login and password provided in the shipment.
- **Login:** IMEI or the login provided in the shipment. (optionally different for some)
- **Password:** Last 6 digits of the IMEI or the password provided in the shipment.
## 3. Activation when purchasing configuration service from us <a name="ourSIM"></a>
Turn on the tracker using the ON/OFF switch or connect it to power if there is no switch. After powering on, the tracker needs up to several minutes to collect the first location data.
## 4. Activation when using your own SIM card <a name="activation"></a>
### Step 1: Purchase a SIM card
Purchase a SIM card that has an active internet package. This can be done from any mobile operator such as Orange, Plus, Play, T-Mobile, or another local operator.
### Step 2: Prepare the SIM card
1. Make sure the SIM card has sufficient balance for GPRS internet access.
2. Disable the PIN code on the SIM card. You can do this by inserting the card into a phone and disabling the PIN in the SIM card settings.
### Step 3: Install the SIM card into the tracker
1. Open the cover/plug of the GPS tracker.
2. Insert the SIM card into the appropriate slot.
3. Turn on the tracker using the ON/OFF switch or connect it to power if there is no switch.
4. Close the cover/plug.
### Step 4: APN Settings
To make the tracker work and appear in the app as active, you need to configure APN settings. This can be done via an SMS command.
Sending an SMS with the APN command:
For most operators it is sufficient to send the following SMS, for example, **from your everyday phone**, to the **number of the SIM card inserted in the powered tracker**:
```
APN,internet#
```

>**NOTE: Make sure the SMS you send does not contain any spaces before or after the above content.**
**During activation try to avoid placing the tracker in areas with limited signal such as an underground garage or basement.**
If after sending the above SMS you did not receive a reply confirming correct configuration, it is possible that the SMS format may differ depending on the SIM operator. To verify this information, please find the correct APN name by searching for the phrase **APN name (your operator name)** in a search engine like Google. In that case you will need to replace the phrase "internet" in the SMS. Below is an example for the operator Virgin Mobile:
```
APN,virgin-internet#
```
If activation problems persist, please contact sklep@spreest.pl or call our technical support.
>**NOTE: After intentionally sending the command, wait several minutes until the tracker becomes active in the app.**

## 11. Recording Function Description <a name="recording"></a>
>**NOTE: If using a SIM card purchased from us, we discourage using this function. From the suggested operating time within a single package (several months), its lifespan may be shortened to even 1-2 months. Additionally, due to the SIM card specification, after setting the main number there is no possibility of making calls to listen to the tracker's surroundings.**
The tracker has a recording function. All recordings are available in the app under the **Recording** option from the section above. It is possible to request the tracker to start recording sounds from the surroundings for a duration from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
There is also the possibility to set automatic recording. Below are the commands that can be sent via SMS or via the website as described in the **"SMS commands and instructions"** subsection:
#### Enable automatic recording
- **Command:** `SNDREC,1#`
- Value 1 means enabled, 0 disabled.
#### Recording segmentation
- **Command:** `MSREC, sec#`
- **Example:** `MSREC,30#`
- The value must be between 30 and 300 and must be a multiple of 30.
#### Adjust sensitivity
- **Command:** `SENLEL,level#`
- **Example:** `SENLEL,3#`
- Values from 1 to 5. The lower the number, the higher the sensitivity. Default is 3.
In addition to recording, it is possible to call to listen to the surroundings of the tracker.
After selecting the **Command** option from the tracker's main view, a list of configuration commands will be displayed. Depending on the tracker, you should choose either **Owner Number** or **Main Number.** The app will ask you to provide the number from which you will call; in some cases you will also need to provide the password you use to log into the app account. The app will inform you whether the action was successful.
When the tracker is powered, it will be possible to call the SIM card number inserted in the tracker.
## 12. Frequently Asked Questions <a name="faq"></a>
### 12.1 I bought more than one tracker, can I combine them into one account? <a name="faq_multi"></a>
Yes, this is possible. Please contact sklep@spreest.pl. In the email please include the following information:
- Order number or other personal data that will allow us to verify the order
- IMEI numbers of the devices you want to combine under one account
After receiving the above information, we will send a reply with the login and password for the WhatsGPS app.
### 12.2 I forgot the password for the account linked to the tracker. <a name="faq_password"></a>
Please contact sklep@spreest.pl. In the email include the IMEI number and personal data that will allow us to verify the order. After receiving the above information, we will send a reply with a new login and password for the WhatsGPS app.
### 12.3 The tracker does not show an accurate position. <a name="faq_position"></a>
Due to the current location the tracker may have trouble with GSM communication (e.g., the tracker is in a basement or underground garage). Please move the tracker to a location with better signal.
### 12.4 What is the mobile data usage in the default tracking mode? <a name="faq_data"></a>
If the tracker is used only for location tracking, the package offered with our SIM (i.e. 500MB) should be enough for at least 16 months of continuous operation assuming the tracker is active no more than 8 hours per day. The package lifetime may be shorter in cases such as:
- Continuous operation in real-time positioning mode
- Enabling options such as listening — with active listening the package offered with our SIM may not suffice even for 2 months.
- Other additional options beyond simple location tracking.
### 12.5 The tracker appears offline in the app. <a name="faq_offline"></a>
Possible reasons:
- Incorrect initial SIM card configuration
- No power to the tracker; for battery-powered trackers the battery may be depleted.
- For battery trackers with intelligent sleep mode, the tracker will remain inactive until woken by vibration.
- Due to current placement the tracker may have poor GSM communication (e.g., in a basement or underground garage).
- The SIM may be inactive due to expired subscription/no data package. For SIMs sold by us, please contact sklep@spreest.pl to check whether you have an active data package.
- The tracker has not been activated.
### 12.6 I left Poland and the tracker stopped working. <a name="faq_roaming"></a>
If you are using a SIM card purchased independently, this may indicate incorrect roaming configuration. In that case contact the operator to get information on configuring the SIM for use outside Poland.
It may also be necessary to resend the activating SMS, because in some roaming cases the SIM connects to a different operator. For example — a Plus SIM outside Poland may start connecting to another operator; in such case refer back to the beginning of the instructions: **4. Activation when using your own SIM card > Step 4: APN Settings**
### 12.7 How much data have we used from the SIM card purchased from you? <a name="pakiet"></a>
If you want to find out the SIM account status, please contact us at sklep@spreest.pl or call our technical support. We will tell you how much of the package has been used and how long it will remain active.
### 12.8 Other issues with the tracker/app <a name="faq_other"></a>
If you have another problem not described above, please contact us at sklep@spreest.pl or call our technical support.
