Faker's (real name Lee Sang-hyuk) popularity is beyond imagination. When the eSports representative arrived at Hangzhou Xiaoshan [섯다](https://www.reddit.com/user/gostopsite123/comments/168nj93/kpga_predicts_a_surge_of_american_students_lee/)International Airport on Feb. 22 to attend the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, the airport was a scene of chaos without the "crowd control" of video games.
Even an hour before Lee's flight arrived, there were dozens of people at the arrivals hall. When it was time to leave the arrivals hall, the crowd swelled to over 200 people. The crowd was filled with bouquets of flowers and merchandise. One fan even wore a shirt with "Faker" on it, the name he uses in League of Legends (LoL), and waited anxiously for him to appear.
When Lee appeared, thunderous cheers rang out. Women's golf star Park In-bee and men's fencers Koo Bon-gil, Kim Jung-hwan, Oh Sang-wook and Kim Joon-ho were among the fans who didn't react when they passed by. As they moved to enter, the crowd formed a "human barrier," and some fans fell to the ground in the process. There was even talk among the media that the number of fans gathered surpassed that of men's soccer icon Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain), who had walked through the immigration gate the day before.
As Lee met with the media for an interview, there were clashes between fans and journalists trying to get a seat. Some fans shoved their cameras through the crowd, while others, unable to see Lee at eye level, sat on the ground to look up at him under the broadcast cameras.
Lee said to the crowd of Chinese fans, "I'm challenging myself again. This time, I will work together with many teammates and prepare to beat (China)," he said, adding, "I will definitely try to win a gold medal in esports at the Asian Games."
Faker's comments come from his memories of the previous Asian Games, the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang. He was competing for South Korea in esports, [온라인섯다](http://clients1.google.si/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fgostopsite.com) which made its Asian Games debut as a demonstration sport.
Despite the presence of Faker, who is considered one of the best players in the world, the Korean team fell to China in the final. At the time, esports was a demonstration sport, so it wasn't included in the official medal tally.
[Lee's](http://drill.lovesick.jp/drilldata/index.php?gostopsite22) popularity has also led to some laughable situations. A fan approached a reporter with an AD card, offering him a translator and a bouquet of flowers. The bouquet was for Chovy (real name Jeong Jeong-hoon), who made the LoL team this year. The reason was that he hadn't been able to meet Lee "Chovy" Sang-hyuk due to the crowds at his transfer.
Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, and the other LoL teams in Group A will begin play on May 25, starting with the qualifiers. The best of the best will be crowned on the 29th, and the LoL team will be looking for its first medal in Asian Games history. [고스톱](https://www.gostopsite.com/wiki/bbs/board.php?bo_table=yukbaek)
