Meta Field Trippers Podcast
RAW NOTES
Multi-host game review podcast recorded live from a virtual production studio.
Episodes should be between 4 to 7 minutes.
Recurring theme: What does it mean to be compatible w/ the metaverse?
Each host reviews & rates the same game but using a different set of criteria.
There is also type of "recommended / not recommended" judgement made by each host.
If possible - there should be a recorded video session of the users exploring the program together that the hosts can talk about together during the podcast - before breaking into their individual scoring reviews.
Show Location: Virtual Studio
The two hosts are in a virtual studio together with a video screen that shows clips of the things they are discussing.
We can just use a different location each time for now. (But should probably build a perminent one eventually.)
The segments that occur in the virtual studio are LIVE (or at least precieved to be.)
The segments that occur in the field trip worlds are flashbacks that may contain additional commentary & heavy editing.
PortionsFlashbacks are sometimes shown as a video playing on a screen in the virtual studio w/ the hosts talking over it.
Show Location: Field Trip World
Gameplay recorded by the actual hosts in the games being reviewed.
If possible, the hosts are in the same multiplayer game together in the recording.
Objective is to have fun in the game & be positive - unless the game doesn't let us be positive. :D
There may be additiona voice-over commentary, or even brief cut-aways back to the Virtual Studio where the hosts talk about stuff.
If filler footage is needed, generic footage / screenshots of the game can be used while in the Virtual Studio cut-away shots.
Show Block: Intro
Generic pre-recorded intro sequence.
Live introductions for today's show, the games to be reviewed, & the 2 hosts.
Show Block: Review - Field Trip
Positive introduction to the game about to be reviewed.
Field trip starts as a flashback video in the virtual studio, then takes over full screen. (Although there may still be additional commentary in voice-overs & cut-aways during the field trip.)
Show Block: Review - Rating Lists
Each host applies their list of metaverse criteria to the game.
Light discussion between hosts about their scoring.
Invite viewers to say what they think in feedback.
Show Block: Review - What If…
The hosts discuss design changes that could alter the game's potential.
Ask users what ideas they have in the feedback.
Show Block: Review - Chopping Block (Recommend/Don't Recommend)
Each host must either recommend or not recommend the game.
We call in the curator (a recurring 3rd character) to remove the game from our virtual set and take it to it's final resting place.
If both hosts recommend a game, it goes into the hall of fame museum.
If both hosts DON'T recommend a game, we blow it up & it respawns in the hall of shame. (We apologize for shitting on people's games before we blow them up.)
If we are a split decision - it goes into the regular museum.
Additional Show Blocks
Having another character arrive "unexpectedly" and deliver a viewer question from last week or initiate some other small segment would be nice.
