# '13-hit explosion' KIA wins 2nd straight over KT, chases down 5th-ranked SSG

The KIA Tigers used their batting explosion to sweep the KT Wiz.

The Tigers cruised to a 10-2 win in game one of their doubleheader against KT in the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Thursday.

With their second straight win, sixth-ranked KIA (66 wins, 2 draws, 65 losses) moved to within two games of fifth-ranked SSG Landers (68 wins, 3 draws, 63 losses).

Second-place KT (74 wins, 3 draws, 61 losses), which has lost three straight games, cut the gap to two games over third-place NC Dinos (70 wins, 2 draws, 61 losses).

The KIA bats were hot. They pounded the KT mound with 13 hits in the first two games. Kim Do-young went 3-for-2 with a double, home run, and two RBIs, while Socrates Brito went 5-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

KIA starter Thomas Pannoni picked up his sixth win of the season (3-0), allowing one run on four hits and four walks in six innings.

With a 3-1 lead, KIA was able to widen the gap.

In the top of the fourth, Park Chan-ho led off with a single and Kim Do-young laid down a sacrifice bunt to load the bases. With two on and two out, Socrates hit an RBI double and Lee Woo-sung followed with an RBI single to left.

In the top of the sixth, they completed the big inning and took the lead for good.

Kim Do-young singled to left, Kim Sun-bin walked, and Socrates singled to make it 6-1, then with the bases loaded, Ko Jong-wook hit a two-run double over the center field fence. Keeping the bases loaded, KIA scored two more runs when Kim Tae-gun grounded out to shortstop and KT made an error.
