--- tags: JLU --- # Week Eight Notes Our second prototyping week. This week we used insights from our first round of usability testing to iterate on our Figma resources database prototype and made prototype e-learning courses on the two platforms that are being considered for use. Having spoken to our development partners on this project previously we had decided that it would be useful to test the features of two [E-learning Platforms](/tSdKlqqbQZSnojiAdQsVKg) with users, aiming to analyse their platform features in terms of pre-course information and learning provision. With help from Just Like Us we established a mini-course called 'What is Gender?' and ported it to both platforms using their individual course and question building capabilities. ## Prototyping with LMS platforms The two LMS platforms had very different methods to create their platform for use. For both you go through the motions of creating a full platform. The 'What is Gender?' course we added to both is short but did require us to get to grips with the core functionality of building courses and questions. We'll demo both admin areas for Just Like Us next week. This will hopefully help with decision making on the e-learning platform they will use. In many cases the ease-of-use in managing a system like these is as important to the selection as it's learning provision for users. In this case the JLU staff will also be an important user to consider. ## Iterating the resource database prototype The feedback from four prototypes in the last round of testing has been merged into the one Figma prototype which is now much improved with these insights, and ready for more usability testing. We have also cleaned up the prototype, making it look more like it would in a real browser environment. The actual look and feel of the new website as a whole is not down to us, but we hope that the older insights, and new ones we get from testing next week will go a long way towards defining the functionality required from it.
