# Week Nine Notes
Our usability testing week in the second cycle of prototyping and testing. This week we had two LMS platforms set up to validate with Educators, as well as an updated iteration of our resource database prototype on Figma.
We also had a raft of questions around what useful content might look like for both platforms, and about Just Like Us' 'toolkits' - Online handbooks that are less guided than a training course, but more guided than a resource library, usually helping to put together a programme for events such as School Diversity Week.
## Uptake on the sessions
The last time we came to book sessions for usability testing schools were still closed, and initial uptake for testing was high. If you've been reading these notes week by week you will know that during our first testing week schools began last minute preparation to go back after lockdown. This caused an unexpected drop in terms of eventual numbers, but we still managed plenty of sessions to get good insights.
This second cycle of testing was a little different - despite a few first round testers volunteering to test again, uptake was generally lower. Schools seem to be back in full swing and teachers have less spare time in the week. Nevertheless we managed to get some great insights on our prototypes this week.
Its always a challenge to get busy professionals booked in for usability testing - even those who are highly engaged like JLU's users. A lesson based on our experience in this programme would be to ensure that the key points you want to validate are given focus in prototyping so that you get plenty of feedback, and that reminder emails help a lot! Consider what features really need to be tested, and perhaps whether any assumptions could be validated simultaneously by less demanding processes such as user research surveys.
## Coming to the close
Next week is our last on the programme, and mainly dedicated to final synthesis of feedback and turning our insights into documented recommendations. It really feels like the time has flown by, but looking back it we've learned so much - for ourselves and hopefully for Just Like Us too.
