# daily blog-20190804-Speed and Timing ###### tags: `daily blog` `time management` `speed` Serendipidously read one blog post about the importance of speed; fast feedback loops generate exponentially more output than slower ones. Speed compounds. Compounding produces leverage. Leverage produces wealth. Earlier today also encountered an interview with a well-known writer in which he talked about his daily routine: get up from 6-8am and work 14 hours until 10pm, every day for 30 years. This, in isolation is admirable but not outstanding, what's outstanding is that in that window, he thinks constantly about how he can accomplish his taskas faster to accomplish more in the day. This is the secret sauce, hard work, done effectively. What you do is most important, but how you do it is a close second. The fast get fed and get stronger, the slow wither and die.
