brief list of the things we're going to do to them
- severely nerf power generation
- change how changing the powergen setting works
- mode-based: Normal (regular powergen and fuel consumption), Eco (reduced powergen, more efficient), Overdrive (must hack to use, increased powergen and drastically increased fuel consumption, Dangerous)
- rework heat status to be a threat
- PACMAN generates heat passively while operating
- heat either stored in a reservoir of coolant or vented out into the air
- if heat reaches a critical point in the machine it melts down and multiple parts are damaged
- if its on overdrive mode, it explodes
this isnt a formal design doc i just need to get these ideas down
short :WHY: is that pacmans generate obscene amounts of power for basically no input
will also recommend the addition of engine guidelines to the mapping standards; only load ships with one kind of pacman unless deliberately not doing that for some reason, dont give them fifty of the things, so on
