# Kepori
Kepori are a raptor-like species covered in feathers vaguely reminiscent of earth’s extinct troodontidae. They’re small and sometimes seen as weak by other species due to their hollow bones but make up for that in speed and reflexes. Those found in space usually lack a clutch, commonly known as rollaways.
## Physiology
Kepori are a species of carbon based theropods that stand around 1.2m (4ft) tall. Smaller than most species and less resilient due to their light, hollow bones, they are renowned for relying on speed, reflexes, and teamwork.
Due to evolving on a warmer home planet than most other species, Kepori find themselves less comfortable in colder climates, though they can handle the standard station temperature of 20C.
Their feather colors tend to gravitate towards sandy colors with red/yellow accents in equatorial regions, with more white and gray common for Kepori from polar areas.
## Origins
### Teceti
Teceti is an earthlike planet, similar in size but with a warmer climate. It is more oceanic than most earthlike planets, having three large landmasses and various islands dotted in its oceans. It is orbited by two small moons. Most of the plant life on the planet tends to be coloured yellow, orange and red due to the blue light emitted by the star that the planet orbits

### A Divided Planet
During their near-extinction, Kepori civilisation was isolated in their north and south hemispheres, and developed into two distinct cultures confined by the uninhabitable equator.
The southern cultures became the most organised, and developed rigid, stratified societies to avoid another ecological catastrophe. The northerners remained independent, with its smaller, agrarian nations being unhappily annexed by the south, a sore point many centuries onward.
Through focused research and systematic control over pollution, the south reversed much of the damage, though they have yet to re-attain the prior heights of Kepori technology.

## Culture
Most Kepori are highly social, inquisitive, and adaptable. They are raised communally and live in large family groups known as packs, and form the same bonds with crewmates and coworkers. They protect those they've bonded to fiercely, and have strong instincts to work with others to achieve goals, leading to them having a reputation for being reliable and loyal crew members.
Environmentalism is core to the Kepori cultural consciousness, as in their recent history, their home planet narrowly avoided total loss of habitability from reckless industrialisation.
### Rollaways
Kepori without a pack group are referred to as "Rollaways", who by fate or choice live alone, and comprise many of the individuals seen in multi-species crews.
### Names
Kepori names usually consist of 3 short syllables, examples include:
Meleri, Temiti, Nirena, Minele, Natari.
