###### tags: `Deprecated` # Skills Skill systems serve primarily as a way of differentiating player characters, making some people better at tasks than others. #### Goals * Allow for intresting character creation * Encourage crew to fufill specific roles (engineers doing surgery at the same level as the doctor) #### Non-goals * Encourage any type of xp grinding You get a set of points to allocate towards diffrent skills and stats, these remain functionally static for a round, I dont even think jobs should give major bonuses, your inital character selection should have much more impact then an arbitrary role would. I think any behavoir we want a job to have should be selectable from character creation. IE if a player really wants there engineer to have a side hussle as a Mammoth producer we should let them.
