{%hackmd theme-dark %} # Humans Mostly hairless mammalian primates. Their home system, Sol, lies in a bluespace "dead-zone" of sorts that blocks anything from entering or exiting it through bluespace without relay. While leaving Sol extremely well-defended, the dead-zone meant that humanity went unnoticed and left in radio silence until they were able to breach it themselves. ## Physiology ## Origins Evolving from primates native to their planet, Humans ("homo sapiens" according to their scientific community, language used unknown) quickly beat out all other close evolutionary rivals through simple out-competition as well as interbreeding, most notably the Neanderthal ("homo neanderthalensis") to become the dominant sapient species on the planet. Their early history was steeped in strife, but technological development and global communication has allowed the species to come together as one and (for the most part) have become much more peaceful, focusing more on exploration, discovery, and in some cases profit over violence when possible. The Solar Government is centered around humanity's home system, Sol. More information on SolGov's origins can be found elsewhere as it is out of scope of this document. ## Culture Humans are well-known for their industrious and explorative (to a fault) nature. Their turbulent history combined with unique isolation from other species has fostered a desire to see "what's out there." Human beliefs and behaviour vary greatly, with distinct cultures being developed whenever a group is left isolated for a significant amount of time. The "culture" shared by most of the humans you will encounter is colloquially called "spacer," for obvious reasons. Many believe in working with their crews above all, focusing less on external allegiances such as to a specific planet, corporation, or government, although exceptions are relatively common due to the isolation of space. ## Gameplay Changes - [ ] More customization for genemods - [ ] Remove felinids ###### tags: `Lore` `Species`
