# Factions Overview

## Nanotrasen

Founded as a joint Humano-Sarathi venture a short time after first contact, Nanotrasen as we know it today began as a mere telecommunications provider. They stayed mostly irrelevant until the invention (and subsequent patenting) of the "stock parts" system. What followed then was the slow monopolization of most of the manufactured technological goods industry.

Today, Nanotrasen is by far the largest corporate entity in the world. With a sizable share in nearly every industry, it's a near inevitability that everyone has a Nanotrasen-made product in their possession.

## The Syndicate

The Syndicate is a coalition formed on one core ideological tenet: **Nanotrasen must fall.** Though each member faction of the Syndicate have different ideas on how far they should go with this, all of them believe that Nanotrasen's iron grip over the cosmos needs to be broken. Each member faction of the Syndicate has dedicated itself to contributing towards the common goal of opposing Nanotrasen in any way, shape, or form, whether it be by organizing demonstrations or by bombarding orbital stations.

The Syndicate is far from a single organized polity. More often than not, the factions that make up the Syndicate will have squabbles of varying scales, with some going as far as to actively sabotage the operations of other members.

## The Solar Republic

While the Void between the stars is infamously turbulent, there are a small handfull of regions in relative peace. Most notably among these small idyllic patches is the Sol System: The capital of The Most Serene Solar and Intersolar Republic (SolGov for Short), where near infinite legions of state officials work tirelessly to maintain societal stability and public order.
