# Senior Blockchain Infrastructure Engineer


## Who We Are
Seismic is building the next iteration of the Ethereum Virtual Machine: the Shielded EVM. It allows contracts to manage on-chain data that cannot be observed – all in Solidity.

You've likely heard the "shielded blockchain" pitch before. The fully transparent nature of blockchains has been a gaping problem in the space for years now. Many incredible teams have tried solving it. Yet, this problem remains unsolved, until now.

What's the secret to solving it? A ruthless focus on applications. We don't force developers to learn our custom coding paradigm. We let them code the way they're familiar with. We don't extend our stack to provide the maxed out feature set. We strip down requirements to focus on the one element we can provide at scale. We don't optimize for R&D initiatives. We take the fastest path that gets us to production safely.

Our approach has shown promise. It landed us partnerships with exceptional teams in the space, and we've ran a number of interesting experiments with them. These include game shows, dating protocols, competitive DEXs, and so much more.

It's only the beginning. We're a stealth startup with eight members. We have three years of runway thanks to a16z and Polychain. Everything's greenfield. There's an opportunity here to become an industry-defining company. We're looking for people to help us seize it.

## The Role
You'll wear many hats. Three of these are:
1. EVM Architect. You'll tear [reth](https://github.com/paradigmxyz/reth) apart and put it back together. You'll modify opcodes, extend merkleization, and overwrite call traces.
2. Consensus Engineer. You'll customize consensus protocols to work with our new execution environment.
3. General Enthusiast. You'll plug into a variety of tech stacks around zero knowledge proofs, multiparty computation, and trusted execution environments.

## Who You Are
We don't impose any restrictions on background. Doesn't matter if you spent the last 10 years working on japanese poetry. If you can get the job done, as outlined in *The Role*, we'd love to have you.
