# SearchWing - Knowledge sharing

As we are a Open Source project sharing our knowledge is key for our project. We want bring the field of Open Source Search and Rescue drones forward by developing and using the technology and share it with everyone.

## Our drone

We build unmanned aerial vehicles specially adapted and equipped for search and rescue operations at sea.


The drone extends the search radius of a rescue vessel at the sea to cover an area up to 160 km² per mission, instead of less than 5 km² when only relying on binoculars to search the sea.

## Camera / Image Recognition
Two 8 megapixel cameras provide sharp pictures of the sea surface and people in distress from 550m above the sea. The pictures can be analysed both manually and automatically using our image recognition algorithm.
