Proficiency level of students: High school, third year students. They are past learning the basic structure of the language, have a knowledge of most commonly used words in the language, but need to expand to better connect to speakers of Spanish with diverse dialectal variations. Design Process: I decided to go for a traditional format, because it was easier to integrate the information-gathering aspect. This activity would allow students to self-direct their information-gathering. I am aware as the faciliator that they will likely use online resources, which is fine because it's still information gathering and they will likely stumble upon youtube channels, blogs and other sources about language learning that might be helpful to them in the future. It's deeply connected to CLT because it focuses on meaningful, real communication, focused on dialectal variation.
