## Before Reading I gave up on this tbh, ended up making a system that I feel is more confusing than the problem it was meant to solve. # Tensity Tensity is a new mechanic that aims to be worked into the Mood system. ## Goals 1. Add content to the Psychologist. 2. Add a reason to avoid killing/watching the deaths of other players. 3. Be a good excuse for players to leave their departments more often. 4. Add a good use for the memory system, which hasn't been helpful for much since implementation. 5. Split moods away from moodlets, your current mood of feeling insane going away from simply eating good food is frankly not the best for immersion. 6. Replace Hypersensitivity. ## Non-Goals 1. Be in the way of Antagonists doing what they need to. 2. Add a way to check for Antagonists. 3. Force players to rely on a single player/department to remain stable. ## Ok, so basically Tensity is a status effect on players that is affected by their surroundings Players start out at no tensity, in which you do not even get a status effect. From there it is scaled to 1000, like so; 1 - 200: Uneasy 201 - 399: Stiff 401 - 599: Agitated 601 - 799: Tense 801 - 1000: Worried Wreck The level you are at changes how strong the effects will be. Tensity is basically memories with the added functionality that they work similar to moodlets, as in they have a value that they increase or decrease your tensity by, the difference is that these are constantly giving tensity during the duration. ### Ok but like, what does Tensity do? 1. Lowers your mood. ### Positive Effects (Lowers/Removes Tensity) 1. Being in the psych office will slowly lower your tensity, but will be faster if there is a plushie or psychologist in the room with you. 2. Having overall positive moodlets will slowly remove tensity. 3. Being hugged by a Friendly person. ### Negative Effects This is basically memories that work similar to moodlets, as in they have a value that they affect your tensity by, the difference is that these are constantly giving tensity. Other effects that aren't direct memories that will still affect your tensity are: 1. Fighting megafauna 2. Being in rooms full of blood. 3. Having open surgery performed on you (this should be a memory though). 4. Getting hallucinations. 5. Someone solid snake'ing you with a box. 6. Being in dark maintenance tunnels. 7. Being handcuffed in Cell 3 as an Assistant. 8. Being in space too long as a non-spacer. 9. Being given something you are allergic to (this should also be a memory). ### Minor effects 1. Being in beautiful rooms will increase the amount of tensity gain/loss you get, replacing the Hypersensitivity quirk. 2. Being an Antagonist will not give tensity for seeing deaths. 3. Having RDS will make you immune to lower insanity from hallucinating. ###### tags: `TGstation`
