Background (High-quality, detailed) transcription of our meetings is very useful to us. Alternatives such as audio recordings aren't palatable to the entire committee. Despite enlisting the help of professionals, there's the need of some committee intervention to make the notes maximally useful. The actual task falls on the shoulders of volunteers from an increasingly smaller set of committee members. It is well-known that helping with note-taking is something that makes it somewhat difficult to participate/engage in the meeting for that duration.
