Great! What would you like to trade? Please let me know the asset (for example, BTC-PERP or ETH-PERP), the amount, and whether you want to buy or sell. If you want to use leverage, let me know the multiplier as well.
I'm ready when you are!

I want to buy some normal btc worth 1 usd, how much btc would i get
Marlin Trading Agent, [28/07/25 3:10 pm]
The current price of BTC-PERP is $118,900.50. If you spend $1 USD, you would get approximately:
1 ÷ 118,900.50 ≈ 0.00000841 BTC
Let me know if you want to proceed with this buy or adjust the amount!
Roshan | Marlin, [28/07/25 3:10 pm]
yes go ahead
Marlin Trading Agent, [28/07/25 3:10 pm]
On Hyperliquid, the minimum positional value for a trade must be more than $10. Your request to buy $1 worth of BTC does not meet this requirement.
Would you like to buy $10 worth of BTC instead? If yes, I can proceed for you. Let me know how you’d like to continue!

why is this btc perp and not regular btc
Marlin Trading Agent, [28/07/25 3:11 pm]
On Hyperliquid, trading is mostly done with perpetual contracts (perps) like BTC-PERP rather than regular spot BTC. Here’s the difference:
- BTC-PERP: This is a derivative contract that tracks the price of Bitcoin and allows trading with leverage. You don’t own actual BTC; instead, you’re trading a contract based on BTC’s price movement.
- Regular BTC (spot): This is direct ownership of real Bitcoin, where you can withdraw or transfer actual BTC to a wallet.
Hyperliquid primarily supports perp trading, which is why BTC-PERP is available and not regular BTC spot trading. If you need to buy real BTC (spot), you’ll need to use a different exchange that supports spot markets.
Would you like to continue with BTC-PERP, or do you have any other asset or trade type in mind?
Roshan | Marlin, [28/07/25 3:12 pm]
yeah go ahead with 10$ of btc perp

The order could not be placed because the price is not divisible by the required tick size for BTC-PERP.
Would you like to place a market order instead or adjust the price? Let me know how you'd like to proceed!
Roshan | Marlin, [28/07/25 3:13 pm]
what does this mean
Marlin Trading Agent, [28/07/25 3:13 pm]
The error “Price must be divisible by tick size” means that the price you set for your order doesn’t match the required price step (tick size) for BTC-PERP on Hyperliquid.
- Each asset has a specific tick size, which is the minimum allowed increment for the price.
- For BTC-PERP, you can only place orders at allowed price increments (for example, every $0.50 or $1, depending on the tick size set by the platform).
- If your limit price doesn’t fit this step (for example, using $118900.5 when the tick size is $1), the order will fail.
A solution is to use a market order, which buys at the current market price, or round your limit price to the nearest allowed tick.
Would you like to go with a market order for $10 of BTC-PERP? I can place it for you right now.

can you limit slippage on market orders
Marlin Trading Agent, [28/07/25 3:14 pm]
Yes, you can limit slippage on market orders by using a limit order with a price cap (sometimes called a "marketable limit order"). This type of order lets you buy immediately at the best available price, but only up to a maximum price you set—so you don't pay more than you want.
How it works:
- Market order: Fills at the current market price, with potential for higher slippage if liquidity is low.
- Marketable limit order: Places a limit order above the current price (for buys), which will fill instantly up to your cap. Any remaining unfilled part is canceled, protecting you from paying far above your desired price.
Would you like to set a limit price above the current BTC-PERP price to control slippage (for example, $119,100)? Let me know your max acceptable price, and I’ll place the order accordingly!
Roshan | Marlin, [28/07/25 3:14 pm]
yes, place a market order for 10$, max price of 119k
Marlin Trading Agent, [28/07/25 3:15 pm]
Your order to buy $10 of BTC-PERP (0.00009 BTC) with a max price of $119,000 has been placed and fully filled at an average price of $118,826.
