# Request For Comments : Decentralised Dungeon Mistress/Master
This is a thought experiment.
## Why?
No gods, no masters. There's a difficulty finding and selecting good DM's. People will volunteer, but aren't the right candidates.
At the same time, other visitors, who often will know better do not step up when things go wrong (bystander effect), because, you know, let the DM handle it.
## There has to be a better way
1. You see something that makes you go, hmm, "that thing" doesn't seem safe.
2. Find someone, preferably someone who's more experienced than you and more knowledgable than the person who's doing "the thing". This person **cannot** be your partner or a very close friend.
3. Talk to this person and express your concern.
4. This person has to make a choice: **interrupt or not**.
**OR** This person agrees to interrupt, you both approach the persons doing the thing and interrupt the play.
**OR** you both decide to stand by and observe.
**OR** This person does not agree to interrupt, tells you it's ok.
5. you both wait till the play and aftercare is over, you don't have to stay in the room. Afterwards, you talk to the people who were doing the thing you are open on the previous interaction you both had. The idea is to give and recieve feedback, how did the scene look to you, but also, give the persons doing the thing the opportunity to give some feedback on how this fits into their risk profile and the precautions they took.
